Wamakko responds to community appeal, donates transformer to end power outage

Residents of the Kaduna Road area of Sokoto metropolis have expressed profound appreciation to Senator Dr. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, representing Sokoto North Senatorial District, for donating an electricity transformer to the community following a prolonged power outage.

The commendation was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday in Sokoto by Bashar Abubakar, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Senator.

According to the statement, the intervention came after community leaders, led by Alhaji Ahmad Tahir, appealed to Senator Wamakko to urgently address the electricity challenge facing the area due to a faulty transformer that had left residents and businesses in darkness for several weeks.

The prolonged blackout had reportedly disrupted commercial activities and caused untold hardship to residents, many of whom depend on electricity for their daily livelihoods.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, a retired Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Isah Kebbe, described the donation as timely and life-changing. He noted that the absence of electricity had adversely affected businesses, social activities and the general well-being of the people.

“We are deeply grateful to Senator Aliyu Wamakko for responding promptly to our appeal. This intervention has brought relief to our community and demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of his constituents,” Kebbe said.

The residents described the donation as a major relief and praised the Senator for his responsiveness and dedication to addressing the needs of the people.

They further noted that the gesture was another demonstration of Senator Wamakko’s commitment to improving the living conditions of communities across Sokoto North Senatorial District through impactful and people-oriented projects.

Community leaders and residents also offered prayers for the Senator, asking God to grant him good health and wisdom as he continues to provide quality representation and developmental interventions for his constituents.
