Some Nigerian banks will cease to exist in 2026” — Primate Ayodele reiterates prophecy

Founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has once again reiterated his earlier prophecy that some banks operating in Nigeria will cease to exist, citing recent developments within the nation’s banking sector as confirmation of his revelation.

Primate Ayodele, popularly referred to as the Oracle of God, stated that the ongoing bank capitalisation exercise directed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has clearly shown that not all financial institutions will be able to withstand the pressure of the new financial requirements.

According to him, the directive by the apex bank has exposed the fragile state of some banks, many of which are already struggling to remain afloat.

“Some banks will not be in existence again,” Primate Ayodele declared.

He explained that the recapitalisation policy has made it evident that certain banks are gradually weakening and may not survive the reforms.

“Looking at the situation of capitalisation, it seems some banks will not be in existence. Some banks are going gradually,” he said.

Primate Ayodele added that the unfolding developments within the financial sector are aligning with the prophecy he had previously issued, stressing that time would ultimately validate his warning.

“Let’s wait; time will tell,” he concluded.
The cleric’s prophecy comes at a time when the Nigerian banking industry is undergoing significant reforms, with the CBN pushing for stronger capital bases to enhance financial stability, protect depositors, and strengthen the economy.
While industry analysts view the recapitalisation policy as a necessary step toward building resilient banks, Primate Ayodele’s remarks have reignited public discussions about the possible mergers, acquisitions, or outright collapse of some banks unable to meet the new requirements.
