Roseline Okere’s funeral, cleric emphasis death’s greatest lesson

While a burial ceremony is truly to show love to the bereaved and console or rejoice with them as the case may be, the most important takeaway from such an important occasion is for every guest to ask an important question:” How prepared am I for eternal life”?

Making this assertion at the weekend in Owerri during the service for late Mrs Roseline  Okere was Pastor Emeka Ezealu of the Redeemed Christian Church of God ( RCCG), Owerri.

According to the Cleric, everyone must accept that there is life after death as the scriptures have affirmed and conscious efforts must be made to enjoy not just the praises of men but, most importantly, the commendation of God who would determine the final resting place of the dead- whether in Heaven or hell.

The Cleric stated: “Let’s all note that destiny is sealed once we die. After that, whatever the tributes to the dead are, the real tribute is ” What is God saying about the deceased ?.

The question is, can we all have the testimony of Paul in the Bible, who said” I have fought a good fight and a crown of righteousness awaits me?

So, having heard the good tributes on our late Pastor (Mrs) Okere, the question is, how prepared are we for eternal life ?

Indeed, the tributes, given by many, including his son- Salem, the Spokesperson of the Dangote Group – Mr Tony Chiejina, members of the RCCG and others really showed how impactful the life of the deceased was.

Salem described her late mum as a great, irreplaceable blessing, while Chiejina commended her greatly for her invaluable contributions as a staff of the Dangote Group.

The church said they would miss her dearly for her inspiration and support in various ways, but would remain consoled that she’s gone to the right place eternally.

The Dangote team was led by Mr Okey Nwanko of the Corporate Communications Department, with Mr Chiejina represented by the Lead, Internal Communications- Abimbola Akosile.

The late Roseline  Okere died at the age of 49, after a tough battle with Cancer since 2022.

She was a former Journalist with the Guardian Newspaper where she started as a youth Corps member before she was employed by Dangote Industries Limited which was said to have exceeded expectations in providing the deceased necessary support during her ordeals.
