By Hon Apostle Yomi Taiwo
In life, men of lofty values, immeasurable worth, and commendable impact in their communities never go unrecognized. I have witnessed the conferment of chieftaincy titles, but the “double feather cleaved to the cap” of the Executive Chairman of Egbe/Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo, is uncommon.
This honour highlights the depth of his efforts. As a son of the soil of Idimu Land, his legacy of achievements will resonate through generations.
In local parlance, Are Alaseyori means “one who succeeds,” while Alaseyege signifies “unblemished success.” It is rare to see these two honors bestowed together. One might wonder why Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo, was deemed worthy of such enormous recognition.
The once-impossible Pipeline Road—now named Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo Avenue—was a challenge that his predecessors failed to overcome. For years, it remained a riddle, a puzzle they could not solve. Every effort to rehabilitate this vital artery, which connects several key routes, hit a snag.
The conferment of Are Alaseyori, Alaseyege speaks volumes about the doggedness, resilience, and focus of Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo in breaking the age-old jinx surrounding Pipeline Road. It was an arduous venture, fraught with challenges, yet he gallantly maneuvered past the obstacles.
A skillful administrator with intelligence, foresight, and a determined spirit, he remained steadfast in his mission to alleviate the suffering of the people living along the pipeline corridor. At first, the road’s extensive length, deep potholes, crisscrossing gullies, and overgrown vegetation might have deterred many. But men like Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo, are uncommon. He defied the odds.
The Executive Chairman of Egbe/Idimu LCDA left a magical touch on every part of the council. He refurbished the primary healthcare facility in Isheri, equipping it with state-of-the-art medical devices. The cozy ambiance, top-notch customer service, and highly professional staff transformed healthcare delivery in Isheri Olofin.
His impact extended beyond healthcare. He spearheaded the construction of numerous roads, including Abdusalau Street and several others.
His leadership is rooted in the philosophy of “making life better for the people.” True leadership demands a heart for the people and a relentless drive to meet the needs of the community.
Furthering his developmental strides, Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo worked wonders in Egbe. He completed multiple road projects, including Authority Avenue, Alhaji Oguntoyinbo Street, Olusesi Street, Palmer Street, and many more.
His efforts were not confined to Egbe alone. In Agodo, he facilitated the construction of community roads and several drainage systems. He provided transformers, commissioned water projects, and initiated various empowerment schemes.
Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo acted like a true champion. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Hellen Aderonke Healthcare Facility to enhance medical services for the people of Idimu.
Additionally, he embarked on numerous road projects across different communities, cementing his legacy in the annals of history.
Are Alaseyori, Alaseyege is a title that encapsulates Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo’s exceptional ability to accomplish what his predecessors found impossible.
No wonder his immediate predecessor, Hon. Waheed Bello(Sunshine), radiated immense joy at the commissioning ceremony of Pipeline Road, Idimu. It was a moment of fulfillment—seeing his successor complete a project that had long been a dream.
Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo’s achievements serve as an enduring testament to visionary leadership, unwavering commitment, and an unrelenting pursuit of progress. His impact on Egbe/Idimu LCDA is indelible, ensuring that his name remains etched in the hearts of the people for generations to come.
