Planned protest: Council Chairman sues for peace, patience, harmony

Mayor of Egbe Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Alimosho Local Government Area (LGA), Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo, has appealed to the residents especially the youths of  in the council to shun any form of plan to destroy the heritage, assets and investments in Lagos State under the guise of peaceful protest.

He made this appeal during the Stakeholders meeting with Area M Police Command, Idimu.

The council helmsman reminded the youths of the disaster that erupted during the END SARS protest which was hijacked by those who intentionally planned to use the protest to destroy Lagos State and set the economy of the state backwards.

He called the attention of the youths to all the historical monuments, financial investments, public utilities and other structures that were destroyed in the protest, especially the government transport buses and one of the best hospitals situated on Lagos Island, which was designed to address serious Health and Medical challenges and save  people the expenses of travelling abroad, but destroyed during the protest.

The council boss appealed for calm and urged the residents to be patient as President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is making enormous efforts to make life more meaningful for us in Nigeria, stabilizing our economy, and also addressing the current hardship we are all facing.

He also advised the youths not to frustrate the giant strides of the Chief Security Officer of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu as he is striving hard to make Lagos a smart city and one of the most vibrant economic cities in the world, with the provision of magnificent public facilities, constant palliatives and infrastructural development.

The council boss then urged the residents to resist any form of persuasion to join the planned protest as the government is on the right path towards making the country a great Nation.

“In Egbe Idimu LCDA, we are known for Love, Peace, Unity and the status quo still remain,” he stressed.

The gathering also had the Numero Uno of Police in Lagos State in person of CP. Adegoke M. Fayoade, Traditional Rulers, Community Leaders, Market Men & Women, Artisans, Youths and other concerned stakeholders in attendance.
