Gov. Eno’s Weekly Review: Project inspections, delivery meeting amid political activities

Irrespective of the season or the political calendar, Governor Umo Eno continues to prioritize project delivery across Akwa Ibom State, even amidst intense party politics.

This week, the Governor led government officials on project inspections and chaired a full-day project delivery meeting reviewing over 55 ongoing projects across the State.

Key Activities This Week:
Sunday, March 22: Governor Eno joined other governors and notable figures to pay homage to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at his residence. He also attended the Pre-Progressive Governors’ Forum meeting in Lagos.

Monday, March 23: Felicitated Rt. Hon. (Otuekong) Nse Essien on his birthday.
Tuesday, March 24: Inspected Ewet Luxury Garden Estate Project; presided over the March Delivery Meeting reviewing 55 projects; approved ₦2.5 billion for 620,000 nursery palm seedlings to boost palm oil production.

Wednesday, March 25: Attended APC South-South Zonal Congress in Delta State, commending its peaceful conduct; received the remains of Rev. (Dr.) Uma Ukpai at VAIA; inspected airport facilities.

Friday, March 27: Celebrated Udeme Ufot on his birthday; led Akwa Ibom delegation to Eagle Square for APC National Congress.

Saturday, March 28: Felicitated the AKIRS Chairman, Okon Okon, and spouse on their joint birthday.

Matters Arising
Governor Eno Maintains Focus on Development
Despite attending critical APC Zonal and National Congresses this week, Governor Eno remained committed to his administration’s priorities.

He inspected project sites and chaired a delivery meeting reviewing over 55 projects, demonstrating that politics does not distract him from serving the people of Akwa Ibom State.

Since assuming office on May 29, 2023, Governor Eno has prioritized people-centric development projects. Akwa Ibom is virtually a project site, with numerous initiatives ongoing simultaneously.

Impressively, these projects are being funded without borrowing from banks, domestic or foreign.

Governor Eno’s prudent resource management includes clearing about ₦38 billion in inherited debt, ensuring financial stability while creating a conducive environment for investors, banks, and oil companies to operate in the State.

Most projects reviewed during the March Delivery Meeting are expected to be commissioned between April and May 2026, with all others completed within his first term.

Governor Eno Leads Akwa Ibom APC to Victory Path

With the successful completion of Ward, Chapter, State, Zonal, and National APC Congresses, Governor Eno has positioned the party for success in upcoming elections.

Members of the APC express gratitude for his decision to join the party in 2025, which transformed its fortunes after years of underperformance in the State.

The Governor’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in June 2025 was a historic and coordinated political move, bringing along nearly all key stakeholders in the State.

Today, the APC in Akwa Ibom is well-poised for victory, with both “Aboriginal” members and recent “Tranferees” fully mobilized behind Governor Eno’s leadership.

Project Delivery Meeting Highlights
During the March Delivery Meeting, Governor Eno approved ₦2.5 billion for 620,000 oil palm seedlings under the Tree Crop Revolution program, part of the ARISE Agricultural Agenda. The initiative will be implemented with support from agriculture extension workers to ensure proper planting and yield.

Stakeholders commended Governor Eno’s inclusive governance and commitment to development, describing the meetings as evidence of leadership at its best.

Reception of Rev. Uma Ukpai’s Remains
Governor Eno received the remains of the late Rev. Uma Ukpai at Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, ahead of his funeral on March 27, 2026.

The Governor praised the evangelist’s commitment to spreading the Gospel globally and expressed solidarity with the family.

Bishop Francis Wale Oke, President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), thanked Governor Eno for his support in ensuring a well-coordinated final journey for the late cleric.

Commendation for Peaceful APC South-South Congress
Governor Eno commended the peaceful conduct of the APC South-South Zonal Congress held in Delta State, highlighting the consensus-driven approach that ensured a seamless process.

Attendance was massive, including the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, zonal leaders, State Governors, and other party stakeholders.
