Tinubu’s reforms on course, yielding results — Ebie
Urges DUG members, Ika Nation, Deltans to vote massively for Mr. President

Chairman, Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Chiedu Ebie, has called on members of the Delta Unity Group (DUG), the Ika Nation and Deltans at large to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, describing continuity in leadership as essential to consolidating ongoing economic reforms and sustaining national development.
Ebie, who also serves as Director IV of the Contact and Mobilisation Directorate of the Presidential Campaign Council and Deputy Director-General of the Delta State Campaign Council, made the appeal in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
He maintained that President Tinubu’s economic reforms, though challenging, were laying the foundation for a more resilient economy, improved infrastructure, greater investment opportunities and long-term prosperity.
According to Ebie, the removal of fuel subsidy, unification of the foreign exchange market, investment in infrastructure and introduction of the student loan scheme are among the difficult but necessary measures aimed at repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth.
“President Tinubu’s reforms are not cosmetic. They are fundamental, structural and patriotic. What we are seeing today is the foundation for long-term prosperity,” Ebie said, urging Nigerians to remain committed to the reform process while demanding more tangible improvements in their living conditions.
Recent economic assessments lend support to the argument that some macroeconomic gains are emerging. The International Monetary Fund, in its June 2026 assessment, acknowledged that Nigeria’s reforms had strengthened macroeconomic stability and improved external financial buffers.
For Ebie, these developments reinforce the need for continuity, effective implementation and stronger collaboration between the Federal Government, state governments and local communities.
He particularly urged the Ika Nation to recognise the importance of political participation in shaping the country’s future, arguing that sustained engagement with the Federal Government could help advance the region’s development priorities, including infrastructure, youth empowerment, employment opportunities and environmental concerns affecting the Niger Delta.
As NDDC Board Chairman, Ebie said the Renewed Hope Agenda must translate into measurable development through improved project monitoring, completion of abandoned projects, transparent administration and programmes that empower young people.
He stressed that the people of Ika South and Delta State should support policies that promise lasting development while holding public officials accountable for delivering on their commitments.
Ebie also called on DUG members and the entire All Progressives Congress (APC) family to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, maintain party unity and engage voters constructively ahead of the 2027 general elections.
At an enlarged stakeholders’ meeting attended by DUG leaders and APC stakeholders, he urged party faithful to rally behind President Tinubu, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other APC candidates.
He emphasised that unity, strategic mobilisation and sustained engagement with communities would be critical to the party’s electoral prospects.
For DUG and the wider Ika and Delta communities, Ebie’s message was that support for Tinubu should be anchored on the prospect of economic recovery, infrastructure development, youth opportunities and a stronger voice for the Niger Delta within the national development framework.
While acknowledging the economic pressures confronting households, he maintained that the priority should be to consolidate reforms and ensure that their benefits reach more Nigerians.
Ebie expressed confidence that Ika South and Delta State could play a significant role in the APC’s 2027 electoral campaign, calling for renewed commitment to the party’s development agenda and a peaceful, issue-based political engagement.
He urged DUG members, the Ika Nation and all Deltans to support President Tinubu’s re-election bid, stressing that continuity must be matched by accountability, inclusive growth and concrete improvements in the lives of Nigerians.
