YALI Network Lagos has officially kicked off its first major project of the year, “Adopt a School,” a state-wide initiative designed to promote sustainable educational development and positively impact communities across Lagos State.

The project will be implemented across the five IBILE divisions of the state, Ikorodu, Badagry, Ikeja, Lagos Island, and Epe, with members of the network leading interventions in selected schools within their respective divisions.

The Adopt a School Initiative is designed to empower YALI Network Lagos members to support underserved schools through a range of strategic interventions, including educational support, mentorship programs, infrastructure support, health awareness initiatives, and digital learning interventions.

Through this project, YALI Network Lagos seeks to strengthen community engagement while fostering youth leadership and sustainable development within the education sector.

To ensure proper coordination and accountability, the project will be implemented through a structured process. Each division will first hold an internal meeting to discuss the initiative and select a Division Lead who will coordinate the project within the division.

Following this, divisions are required to develop a project plan outlining the school to be adopted, the proposed intervention, and the intended implementation date. The project plan must be submitted to the YALI Network Lagos leadership team via yalinetworklagos@gmail.com for approval.

Upon receiving approval, divisions will engage with the selected school to obtain consent from the school management before proceeding with implementation.

During project execution, members are encouraged to document activities through photographs and share them on their social media platforms while tagging YALI Network Lagos. All project images will also be uploaded to a shared Google Drive folder for documentation.

At the conclusion of the project, each division will submit a brief report alongside photographs to the leadership team to capture the outcomes and impact of the initiative.

YALI Network Lagos emphasized that the Adopt a School Project is an official hub initiative, and no division is permitted to carry out the project independently without the approval and coordination of the hub leadership.

The network expressed confidence that the initiative will enable members across the IBILE divisions to deliver meaningful and measurable impact in schools across Lagos State.
