Two arrested for receiving stolen goods in Birnin Kebbi

Kebbi State Police Command has made significant progress in cracking down on stolen goods syndicates, arresting two suspects for receiving stolen property in Birnin Kebbi.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Kebbi State Command, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, on the 11th September, 2025, one Architect Usman Wasagu, of Kawara area, Birnin Kebbi, reported at the Divisional police headquarters, Birnin Kebbi, that on the 9th September, 2025, unknown person(s) broke his store located behind Sajo school of Nursing Science, Birnin Kebbi, and stole his seven (7) power Tiller machines worth N3.1m.

Following a credible lead, a team of Policemen attached to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Birnin Kebbi, swiftly swung into action and succeeded in arresting one Hamidu Bagudu, 52, of Tudun Wada area, and Abdullahi Aliyu, 35, of Nasarawa area, all in Birnin Kebbi town, in connection with the case.

During preliminary investigation, they confessed to having received the stolen items from one Usman Inyamu of the Tudun Wada area, Birnin Kebbi, who is still at large.

They alleged further that the said Usman sold the stolen items to Abdullahi Aliyu at the sum of N1.8m, out of which the proceeds of N250,000 have been recovered as exhibits.

Consequently, the Police have also succeeded in recovering all seven (7) stolen Tiller machines from the suspects.

In view of the above recorded achievement, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani, had commended the professionalism and prompt response exhibited by the DPO Birnin Kebbi and his men.

He reiterated the Command’s determination to rid Kebbi State of all forms of violent crimes.

The CP directed the DPO Birnin Kebbi to immediately transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Birnin Kebbi, for further investigation and diligent prosecution.

CP Bello M Sani equally emphasized that with accurate and timely information from members of the public, the Command will be determined to make Kebbi State uninhabitable for criminal elements.
