Sponsorship call: Alimosho/Oshodi -Isolo kids tournament promotes youth development

Organisers of the Alimosho/Oshodi/Isolo Kids Tournament have announced a call for sponsorship for the 2nd edition of the event, scheduled to take place from March 24 to 28, 2025, at the Ejigbo Mini Stadium, Iyana Ejigbo, Lagos.

According to the organisers of the event, Publisher of The Mirror Newspaper, Rev. Stanley Ihedigbo, the tournament aimed to promote youth development, community engagement, and social values through sports, while addressing pressing issues such as drug abuse, crimes, and human trafficking.

In his words,” The tournament also hopes to continue discouraging our young people from embarking on dangerous journeys overseas, particularly through the desert route, in search of greener pastures.

“Furthermore, the event seeks to raise awareness about the dangers of prostitution, slavery, and other forms of exploitation, while promoting godly values and moral principles among our children in the society.

‘”By using sports as a medium, we want to impart valuable life lessons and skills on the young participants while also providing a fun and engaging environment for them to showcase their talents,” he explained.

The Journalist Minister further explained that the kids’ tournament promises to be an exciting and enriching experience for all participants, and they are inviting parents, guardians, and stakeholders to support this noble initiative.

He added that over 200 primary and secondary schools are expected to participate in the tournament, which will feature various sports, including football, table tennis, lawn tennis, track events, kids’ marathons, and Scrabble for males and females.

“By sponsoring the event, organizations will contribute to the growth and development of young people in Nigeria, while promoting their brand values and commitment to community development.

“We extended our invitation, expressing optimism that the partnership will enrich the lives of young participants and reinforce corporate social responsibility,” he further said.

He commended HEDA Resources Centre, PreshFaith Education Centre, Youth Lens, Certified Institute of Sports Management, and individuals who supported their first edition.
