Oturubo celebrates birthday, salutes Gbaramatu women over role in Warri Ward delineation advocacy

In a heartfelt birthday tribute, the Chief Executive Officer of Miyenturua Nigeria Limited, Chief (Dr.) Collins Tamaraumiyensinde Oturubo, has dedicated his new age celebration to the women of the Gbaramatu Kingdom, praising their courage, unity, and leadership in the peaceful advocacy that contributed to the implementation of the Warri Federal Constituency ward delineation exercise.

Chief Oturubo, a proud son of Gbaramatu Kingdom and the Amabelemowei of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom, made the statement in Warri, Delta State, describing the occasion as not only a personal milestone but also an opportunity to honor the resilience of women who, according to him, played a critical role in advancing justice, fairness, and democratic inclusion in the region.

He commended the women for their unwavering commitment during peaceful protests and civic engagements that helped draw national attention to long-standing demands for equitable electoral representation and community development.

According to him, their actions reflected deep patriotism and a strong belief in peaceful advocacy as a tool for change.

“From young girls full of promise to our elderly mothers whose wisdom continues to guide our communities, the women of Gbaramatu Kingdom remain symbols of resilience, courage, resistance, and motherly love,” Oturubo said.

He further highlighted the role of women from various communities, including Benikrukru, Oporoza, Okerenkoko, Abiteye Flow Station, Egwa Flow Station, and Jones Creek Flow Station, noting that their sustained advocacy has been central to the community’s developmental struggles and achievements.

Even in the face of challenges, he said, the women remained united, refusing to be silenced, and instead strengthened their collective voice to demand fairness, improved living conditions, and sustainable development.

Chief Oturubo also noted that their activism extended beyond political representation to include calls for access to clean water, electricity, healthcare, environmental justice, and broader social amenities that would improve the quality of life across the kingdom.

Reflecting on his new age, he said the sacrifices and determination of Gbaramatu women have not only strengthened community cohesion but also contributed significantly to the recognition and progress of the kingdom over the years.

He emphasized that sustainable development cannot be achieved without the active participation of women, calling for greater inclusion in governance, leadership, and decision-making processes.

“The future of our communities depends greatly on the recognition, inclusion, and active participation of women in governance and development. We must continue to create opportunities that allow them to contribute meaningfully to society,” he stated.

Chief Oturubo also called on traditional rulers, community leaders, and stakeholders across Gbaramatu Kingdom to remain committed to unity, peace, and collaborative development efforts, stressing that only collective action can guarantee lasting progress.
