Oron LG gets new administrative complex as Eno commends grassroots development

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has commissioned the newly completed administrative block of the Oron Local Government Council, describing the project as a clear demonstration of purposeful leadership and effective grassroots governance.

The newly inaugurated complex, executed under the administration of the Chairman of Oron Local Government Area, Chief Asuquo Okon Enweme, is expected to significantly improve administrative efficiency and enhance service delivery within the council area.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Governor Eno commended the council chairman for transforming the face of the local government secretariat and constructing a modern office complex capable of meeting the growing administrative needs of the area.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening local government autonomy and ensuring that no part of the state is excluded from ongoing developmental efforts.

According to the governor, his administration has consistently released local government allocations directly to councils without interference, thereby empowering local government administrations to function effectively and deliver democratic dividends to the grassroots.

Governor Eno noted that the healthy competition among council chairmen in the state was producing visible infrastructural development and improving public confidence in governance.

He described Chief Enweme’s performance as impressive, adding that the achievements being recorded across local government areas under his administration would contribute significantly to the overall success of the state government’s ARISE Agenda.

The governor further applauded the contractor for delivering what he described as a modern and well-designed structure that meets contemporary administrative standards.

The newly commissioned administrative block is equipped with over 20 offices, conference rooms, wireless intercom systems, safety installations, and emergency exit doors designed to enhance operational efficiency and workplace safety.

The facility is also structured to accommodate between 2,000 and 3,000 workers and visitors during peak operational activities, underscoring its strategic importance to local government administration in the area.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of Oron Local Government Area, Chief Asuquo Okon Enweme, expressed gratitude to Governor Eno for his continued support to local government councils and for implementing policies that promote financial autonomy at the grassroots.

He stated that the governor’s leadership and developmental vision have inspired local government administrations across the state to pursue impactful projects capable of improving the lives of the people.

Chief Enweme disclosed that the achievements of his administration were inspired by Governor Eno’s ARISE Agenda, which informed his decision to name the newly completed edifice after the governor.

According to him, the administrative complex represents a major turning point in Oron’s history and symbolizes a new era of progress and efficient governance for the people of the area.

He maintained that the project would remain a lasting legacy of the current administration and expressed confidence that history would remember Governor Eno positively for his commitment to infrastructure development and grassroots empowerment.

The council chairman also commended the contractor, Engr. Elvis Osung, for ensuring the successful completion of the project, noting that the facility would create a more conducive working environment for council staff while improving overall service delivery.
