MURIC hails Dr. Taofeek Abdul-Hameed for transformative leadership at Federal Polytechnic Ayede

Oyo State Chapter of the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has commended, the pioneer Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameedfor his transformative leadership and outstanding contributions to academic excellence.
According to a statement issued by General State Secretary of MURIC Oyo State Chapter, Mallam Ibrahim Agunbiade, the organization celebrated Dr. Abdul-Hameed not only for successfully completing his tenure as the founding Rector but also for receiving several prestigious national awards.
These include the Face of Living Hero of Academic World Award 2025, Best Rector of the Year 2025, and the Fiscal Discipline and Ethics Compliance Award from the Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation.
MURIC noted that when Dr. Abdul-Hameed assumed office about five years ago, Federal Polytechnic Ayede was in its infancy, with minimal infrastructure and administrative frameworks.
Through vision, dedication, and purposeful leadership, he transformed the institution into a growing academic hub with robust structures and programs.
“Within five years of focused leadership, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Abdul-Hameed presided over the development of critical physical infrastructure and human capacity that enabled the Polytechnic to commence and expand academic activities,” the statement said.
Under his administration, the Polytechnic introduced fourteen academic programmes, developed its permanent site, and attracted national and international recognition. Dr. Abdul-Hameed also established strong administrative systems, operational frameworks, and staff welfare initiatives, ensuring institutional harmony and stability.
MURIC particularly highlighted the outgoing Rector’s commitment to staff development, noting that several employees benefited from local and international training programs aimed at enhancing professional competence and productivity.
The organization also praised the Polytechnic’s Bursar, Alhaja Rashidah Oladepo, for maintaining financial discipline and administrative stability.
Beyond the campus, Dr. Abdul-Hameed strengthened the Polytechnic’s relationship with host communities through strategic engagement and the Entrepreneurship Development Centre, empowering youths and promoting community development.
“MURIC Oyo State Chapter celebrates the historic contributions of Engr. Dr. Taofeek Abdul-Hameed to the growth and development of Federal Polytechnic Ayede,” the statement concluded.
