Methodist Church Nigeria Conference appoints Ikpeama as MTI, Sagamu Dean of Academics

In a move aimed at strengthening academic excellence and institutional development, the Methodist Church Nigeria Conference has appointed Very Rev. Dr. Chukwuemeka Solomon Ikpeama as the new Dean of Academics of the Methodist Theological Institute (MTI), Sagamu, Ogun State with immediate effect.
According to the Rector, MTI, Very Rev Dr. Bamidele Adedeji, the development was formally communicated to members and stakeholders in the early hours of today, marking a significant transition in the academic leadership of the institution.
Very Rev. Dr. Ikpeama, a seasoned scholar and administrator, is expected to bring his wealth of experience, discipline, and spiritual insight to bear in strengthening academic standards and institutional growth.
The appointment follows the recent posting of Very Rev. Dr. Alagi, the former Dean of Academics, who has been engaged as a lecturer at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.
Dr. Alagi’s elevation to the nation’s leading university is widely regarded as a testament to his competence, dedication, and outstanding service during his tenure as Dean.
Members of the Conference expressed deep appreciation to Very Rev. Dr. Alagi for his invaluable contributions to academic development, curriculum advancement, and staff mentoring while in office.
They also offered prayers for divine guidance, strength, and excellence as he embarks on this new phase of his academic career.
In the same vein, prayers were offered for the newly appointed Dean, Very Rev. Dr. Ikpeama, asking God to grant him wisdom, vision, and the wherewithal to excel in the demanding responsibilities of his new office.
The Conference reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence, spiritual discipline, and institutional stability, expressing confidence that the leadership transition will further enhance the institution’s mission and reputation.
