Leave Tompolo out of every local dispute

It has become increasingly common that whenever misunderstandings arise within communities across the Niger Delta, some people are quick to drag the name of High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) into matters that have little or nothing to do with him.

Every allegation, every disagreement, and every internal conflict somehow finds its way to his doorstep.

Why can’t we leave this man alone?

Tompolo has dedicated a significant part of his life to the peace, stability, and development of the Niger Delta. He has consistently spoken for the rights of the people, advocated for justice, and encouraged peaceful coexistence among the various ethnic nationalities and communities in the region.

While no public figure is beyond scrutiny, it is neither fair nor constructive to make him the subject of every community disagreement or misunderstanding. Local disputes should be addressed by the parties directly involved and through the appropriate traditional, community, and legal mechanisms, rather than by attributing blame without evidence.

The Niger Delta needs unity, dialogue, and responsible leadership—not unnecessary blackmail, misinformation, or the politicization of every conflict.

Let us promote peace by speaking responsibly, resolving our differences through constructive engagement, and allowing individuals to be judged by facts rather than speculation.

The future of the Niger Delta depends on our collective commitment to truth, justice, and peaceful coexistence.

What his detractors failed to understand is that High Chief Tompolo is today recognised globally as an illustrious son of Niger Delta who fought for the control of the region’s resources, reversal of the environmental degradation in the Niger Delta and total emancipation of the people of the region.

At this national level, his organization, the Tantita Security Service Limited, is assisting the Federal Government to secure its very high-priced national assets in the oil and gas sectors in ways that have boosted the Nation’s crude oil production capacity, restored and stabilized the nation’s economy, while ensuring peace and unity among the people of the region.
