Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Nigeria has reiterated the need for stronger collaboration with the Bank of Industry (BOI) to advance support for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) during a courtesy visit to the bank’s management.
Visit to Mr. Oluwatoyin Ahmed Edu, the newly appointed Executive Director for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) at the Bank of Industry (BOI), to congratulate him on his appointment and welcome him to his new role.
The visit also provided an opportunity to welcome Mr. Edu as the Bank of Industry’s representative on the GEN Nigeria Advisory Board. BOI has held a seat on the organisation’s Advisory Board, reflecting its strategic role in strengthening Nigeria’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and expanding opportunities for small businesses nationwide and globally.
During the meeting, the GEN Nigeria delegation reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Bank of Industry to support Nigerian entrepreneurs through capacity-building initiatives, ecosystem development programmes, and access to GEN’s global network.
GEN Nigeria emphasised that stronger partnerships between ecosystem builders and development finance institutions remain critical to unlocking growth opportunities for startups and MSMEs across the country.
Mr. Edu’s appointment comes at a time when Nigeria’s MSME sector continues to play a vital role in driving innovation, job creation, and economic growth. GEN Nigeria expressed confidence that its leadership will further strengthen BOI’s efforts to deepen access to finance and expand support for entrepreneurs nationwide.
Both organisations concluded the visit with a commitment to deepen collaboration aimed at expanding opportunities for Nigerian entrepreneurs and accelerating the growth of the country’s MSME sector.
