G-10 dismisses ‘Local Man’s’ allegations against Gov Eno, describes claims as false, misleading

Gov Umo Eno 2027 Advocates (G-10) has strongly refuted allegations circulating on social media by an individual popularly known as “Local Man,” who claimed that the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, was plotting to harm him.

In a press statement issued on Sunday by its Media Unit, the group described the allegations as a “malicious perversion of truth” and a deliberate attempt to mislead the public for personal gain and undeserved recognition.

According to the group, allegations of such a serious nature should be backed by credible evidence and reported through appropriate security and legal channels rather than being sensationalized on social media.

The statement emphasized that Governor Umo Eno has consistently demonstrated leadership founded on peace, humility, inclusiveness, and commitment to development since assuming office.

“Governor Umo Eno’s administration has remained focused on governance priorities that directly impact the people through infrastructural development, economic expansion, healthcare investments, rural development, human capital advancement, and social intervention programmes under the ARISE Agenda,” the statement noted.

The group further observed that Nigeria, like many developing nations, faces numerous socio-economic and infrastructural challenges, including road rehabilitation, power supply concerns, flooding, food security, and economic pressures. It maintained that addressing these challenges requires deliberate governance processes and institutional coordination rather than emotional agitation or impulsive demands.

The G-10 expressed disappointment that some individuals choose to exploit governance concerns to create narratives aimed at misleading the public, generating unnecessary tension, and damaging the reputation of a governor who, according to the group, remains committed to the collective progress of Akwa Ibom State.

The advocates also questioned why the alleged threat to life was not first reported to security agencies and other lawful authorities before being publicized online.

“It naturally raises legitimate concerns about the true motive behind such claims and whether public sympathy is being weaponized for personal relevance, digital attention, or deliberate political provocation,” the statement said.

The group further alleged that repeated attacks and sensational commentaries directed at the state government by certain individuals suggest a deliberate attempt to position themselves as perpetual antagonists of an administration that has recorded measurable development across the 31 local government areas of the state.

Describing Governor Eno as a leader of uncommon humility and compassion, the group said his inclusive development initiatives continue to positively impact communities across Akwa Ibom.

The G-10 therefore urged residents of the state and the general public to exercise caution and avoid being manipulated by narratives lacking verifiable facts and objective evidence.

It stressed that genuine concerns should always be subjected to lawful investigation processes rather than public dramatization capable of generating unnecessary suspicion and tension.

The group reaffirmed its commitment to constructive engagement, peaceful politics, responsible public discourse, and the promotion of truth over propaganda.

“We encourage all stakeholders to place the collective interests of Akwa Ibom State above personal attacks, misinformation campaigns, and attempts to undermine public confidence in democratic leadership,” the statement added.

The advocates concluded by reaffirming that Governor Umo Eno remains focused on delivering on the mandate entrusted to him by the people of Akwa Ibom State and that no distraction or manufactured controversy would derail the pursuit of a prosperous and progressive state.
