Customs, Oyo Religious Leadership strengthen ties as Grand Chief Imam visits DC Adewole

Grand Chief Imam of Oyo Land, Sheikh Al-Imam Barrister Bilal Husayn Akinola Akeugberu, seeks a partnership with the Zonal Deputy Comptroller of Customs, DC Wale Moses Adewole, in a move aimed at strengthening collaboration between religious leadership and the Nigeria Customs Service.

Grand Chief Imam visited the customs senior officers, and the visit underscored a shared commitment to fostering mutual understanding, community engagement, and support for lawful trade and national development across the zone.

Also, the visit was received with warmth and professional camaraderie, reflecting a shared commitment to institutional cooperation and national development.

The engagement forms part of the Imam’s ongoing outreach to strategic government institutions to strengthen moral values, civic responsibility, and harmonious relationships between religious leadership and public agencies.

In his remarks, the Grand Chief Imam commended DC Adewole and the Nigeria Customs Service for their dedication to protecting the nation’s economic frontiers, facilitating legitimate trade, and contributing meaningfully to national revenue generation. He emphasized that integrity, transparency, and accountability remain indispensable pillars of effective public service.

Sheikh Akeugberu reiterated that Islam promotes justice, fairness, and lawful conduct in all spheres of life. He assured the Customs leadership of the Muslim community’s continued support in encouraging compliance with lawful regulations and promoting ethical standards within society.
