Caleb University: Akintayo celebrates Okunade’s emergence as Professor, hails Two Associate Professors

 

 

Head, Department of Broadcasting, Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, Dr. Atinuke Akintayo, has congratulated Dr. Kayode Okunade on his elevation to the prestigious rank of Professor, describing the achievement as a well-deserved recognition of his scholarship, dedication and contributions to the advancement of knowledge.

Akintayo, in a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the Department, said Professor Okunade’s elevation was not only a significant milestone in his academic career but also a source of pride to Caleb University and the wider academic community.

She noted that attaining the rank of Professor represents years of intellectual commitment, rigorous research, teaching excellence, mentorship and service to the university and society.

According to her, Okunade’s elevation demonstrates the value of sustained academic excellence and would serve as an inspiration to younger scholars aspiring to make meaningful contributions to their respective disciplines.

“I warmly congratulate Dr. Kayode Okunade on his well-deserved elevation to the rank of Professor. This achievement is a testament to his intellectual depth, commitment to scholarship and invaluable contributions to the academic community. It is a moment of great pride for Caleb University and for all of us who have had the privilege of witnessing his remarkable academic journey,” she said.

Akintayo also congratulated two other distinguished academics in the College, Dr. Eric Msughter Aondover, Acting Head of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies, and Dr. Samson Bello, Acting Head of the Department of Mass Communication, on their elevation to the rank of Associate Professor.

She described their promotions as further evidence of the growing culture of academic excellence at Caleb University, noting that the achievements of the three scholars collectively reflect the quality of teaching, research and intellectual leadership within the institution.

The Broadcasting HOD said the promotions of Aondover and Bello were particularly significant because both scholars had continued to combine their academic responsibilities with institutional leadership as Acting Heads of their respective departments.

She praised Aondover for his contributions to journalism and media scholarship, as well as his leadership and commitment to student development and the growth of the academic community.

Similarly, she commended Bello for his dedication to Mass Communication education, research and departmental administration, describing his elevation to Associate Professor as a fitting recognition of his academic and professional contributions.

Akintayo said the three promotions should be celebrated not merely as individual accomplishments but also as milestones that reinforce Caleb University’s commitment to creating a vibrant academic environment where excellence, innovation and intellectual development are encouraged.

She stressed the importance of academic leadership in the rapidly evolving media and communication landscape, noting that universities have a critical responsibility to produce scholars and professionals capable of responding effectively to emerging challenges and opportunities in the industry.
