Archdiocesan Women President advises ministers’ wives to avoid worldly distractions

President, Methodist Church Nigeria, Archdiocese of Lagos Mainland, Women Fellowship, Nneoma Veronica Adeleye, has advised the ministers’ wives to avoid worldly distractions and remain aligned with God’s path of righteousness.

In her address, delivered at the 5th Archdiocesan Ministers’ Wives retreat of the Archdiocese of Lagos Mainland, hosted by the Lagos North Diocese, Agege, Mrs. Adeleye, stressed that God expects the ministers’ wives to remain fervent, vigilant, and unshakable in their faith.

In her words,” We must not be discouraged by the negative news and events in the world. Instead, we should remain prayerful, diligent, and deeply rooted in our faith. We must guard against distractions, ensuring that our hearts remain aligned with God’s path of righteousness. When the Lord returns, may we be found faithful and worthy as devoted mothers in the faith.

“As ministers’ wives, your role is invaluable. Not only do you support your husbands in their public duties, but you also serve as leaders in your own right. It is essential to uphold the values of good governance, maintain dignity, and strike a balance between personal and public life.

“Your role is not just supportive but also visionary. Show compassion and empathy, inspiring others and fostering a nurturing environment within your churches. Approach your work with strategic planning to ensure your contributions are impactful both in your family, the ministry, and the church,” she further advised.

According to the woman of God,” The ministers’ wives should take time to celebrate achievements, personal and communal creating lasting memories and strengthening your bonds with others. And don’t forget to build strong relationships and support one another. It’s equally important to prioritize self – care nurturing your physical, emotional, and spiritual health. ”

In his remarks, Archbishop of Archdiocese of Lagos Mainland, Most Rev. Dr. Obafemi Adeleye, noted that the influence of the ministers’ wives within their homes, churches, and communities couldn’t be overstated and encouraged them to remain pillars of faith, hope, and love, spreading peace and harmony wherever God has placed them.

The host bishop, Rt. Rev. Gboyega Ohu advised that the women be spiritually alert as the gospel of the kingdom will bring alive their God-given talents to use in Jesus’ name.
