Methodist Church Nigeria Bishop appointed to World Methodist Council Ecumenical Committee

Bishop of Atamunu Diocese, Methodist Church Nigeria, Cross River State, Rt Rev Barr Otuekong Ukut, has been appointed to the World Methodist Council Ecumenical and Inter-Religious Relationship Committee for the 2025-2029 term.
According to a statement made available to The Mirror by the man of God, the international recognition is a testament to his dedication to advancing the Kingdom of God and expanding Methodism globally.
As Chairman of the Africa Methodist Council Human Rights Committee and Chairman of the CAN Caucus in Akwa Ibom State, the bishop brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this new role.
He has expressed gratitude to the Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence Dr. Oliver Ali Aba, and other leaders who have supported his nomination and appointment.
He commended the President of the World Methodist Council, Bishop Debra Wallace-Padgett, the General Secretary, Rev Dr Reynaldo Ferreira Leao Neto, and the Chairperson of the WMC Ecumenical and Inter-Religious Relationship Committee, Prof Edgardo Colon Emeric, for the International appointment.
The bishop looks forward to leveraging the global opportunity to promote ecumenical and inter-religious relationships, advance human rights, and expand Methodism worldwide.
