AFAN National President, Mudi, preaches compassion, empathy for less privileged on Eid al-Maulud

As Muslims across Nigeria commemorate Eid al-Maulud, marking the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, President of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Farouk Mudi, has urged the Muslim Ummah to emphasize peace, love, and compassion for those in need.

In a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of AFAN, Ibrahim Garba, it stated that Dr Farouk Rabiu Mudi urged Nigerians, especially Muslims, to demonstrate acts of friendship and harmony as exemplified by the Holy Prophet of Islam, SAW.

” As leader and President of AFAN, I believe in the unity and stability of Nigeria, and the challenge before us, apart from food security, has been rising costs of food items, farm inputs and the herder-farmer clashes. We must use this occasion to pray for peace, unity, tolerance, good harvest and security of our farmland so that we can meet the expectations of Nigerians”, he stated.

” AFAN under my watch shall collaborate with government, MDAs and groups to fashion out ways we can produce more food for local consumption and export. We are also looking at providing facilities for cooperative groups and the organized private sector that are registered with our body. And as we do that, be assured that we shall connect every nook and cranny of the country “. He said

Dr Farouk also calls on the federal government to secure our borders, eliminate tariffs on consumables and focus more on rural access roads and support for farmers, especially rural women who bear most of the burden due to broken homes and single parenting.
