CAGRAM Lagos Chapter assures Tinubu, Hamzat of massive grassroots support ahead of 2027

Lagos State Chapter, Consolidated APC Grassroots Movement (CAGRAM) has reaffirmed its commitment to mobilising widespread grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The declaration was made by the Lagos State Chairman of CAGRAM, Prince Fatai Balogun, during a stakeholders’ meeting attended by party faithful, community leaders, youth representatives, and members of the support group from across the state.
Speaking at the gathering, Balogun formally endorsed Dr. Hamzat for the 2027 Lagos State governorship race, describing him as a competent, experienced, and visionary leader with the capacity to sustain and expand the developmental achievements recorded in Lagos over the years.
According to the CAGRAM chairman, the endorsement followed extensive consultations with members and leaders of the organisation across the state’s local government areas. He noted that the decision was reached after careful consideration of the deputy governor’s track record in public service and his contributions to governance in Lagos State.
Balogun stated that Dr. Hamzat has consistently demonstrated loyalty, administrative excellence, and dedication to the progress of Lagos through various positions he has occupied in government. He added that the deputy governor possesses the institutional knowledge and leadership qualities required to manage the complexities of Africa’s largest commercial city.
“Lagos requires a leader who understands the structure of governance, appreciates the aspirations of the people, and is prepared to build on the foundations already laid. We believe Dr. Hamzat embodies these qualities and remains well-positioned to take the state to greater heights,” he said.
The chairman further stressed that continuity remains critical to sustaining the state’s growth and development. He observed that Lagos has maintained its status as Nigeria’s economic nerve centre largely because successive administrations have built on existing policies and projects rather than abandoning them.
He explained that the support group would intensify mobilisation efforts across communities, political wards, youth organisations, women groups, market associations, and professional bodies to ensure broad-based support for both President Tinubu and the deputy governor as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections begin to gather momentum.
Balogun also urged residents and political stakeholders to prioritise competence, integrity, and proven leadership experience when making political decisions. He maintained that leaders with a clear vision and commitment to public service remain essential for the continued advancement of Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.
He expressed confidence that with sustained grassroots engagement and unity within the party, the APC would continue to enjoy the support of the electorate in Lagos and across the country.
Political analysts believe the endorsement by CAGRAM could add to the growing conversations surrounding the 2027 Lagos governorship contest, as various political groups and stakeholders begin consultations and strategic alignments ahead of the next election cycle.
The endorsement is also seen as a significant boost for Dr. Hamzat, whose years of service in public administration and governance have continued to attract attention from political observers and party supporters interested in the future leadership of Lagos State.
As political activities gradually intensify, CAGRAM says it remains committed to strengthening grassroots participation and supporting leaders it believes possess the capacity to advance development, stability, and good governance for the benefit of all Nigerians.
