Surulere students benefit as YALI Network Lagos drives Adopt-A-School programme

In a bid to inspire and empower young minds, YALI Network Lagos successfully executed its Adopt-A-School Project (Eko Division) at Noble Vine College, Aguda, Surulere, delivering impactful educational and leadership sessions to students.

The outreach programme, led by Team Lead, Leader Angel Ebiere Ingbaifegha, was designed to equip secondary school students with essential life skills in personal development, career planning, and leadership.

The event featured interactive sessions delivered by members of the network. In the Personal Development segment, Leader Blessing Onuawuchi emphasized the importance of discipline, good character, goal setting, and mentorship, while encouraging students to cultivate strong reading habits and make productive use of technology.

Leader Alamu Azeez, who facilitated the Career Development session, urged students to “know themselves” by identifying their strengths and interests early. He also highlighted the importance of financial literacy, goal setting, and seeking proper guidance when making career decisions.

In the Leadership session, Leader Peter Aideloje spoke on integrity and influence, encouraging students to see leadership as a responsibility rooted in values and positive impact.

The programme also included interactive engagements with students, as well as pre- and post-event interviews, which provided insights into participants’ expectations and learning outcomes.

Speaking at the close of the event, the school’s Principal expressed appreciation to YALI Network Lagos for the impactful initiative and indicated interest in future collaborations.

As part of the outreach, the team donated cartons of biscuits to the students and presented YALI-branded gifts to the school authority.

Kareem, and Olufemi Michael Adewunmi.

The Adopt-A-School Project is part of YALI Network Lagos’ ongoing commitment to youth development and community engagement, aimed at nurturing the next generation of leaders across Lagos State.
