YALI Network empowers 100 students in Cross River through YALI4SCHOOLS Initiative

In commemoration of International Women’s Day, the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Network, Cross River State, successfully carried out its impactful YALI4SCHOOLS outreach program in partnership with the Women Chemists Committee, Cross River State.

The initiative, which took place in March at the University of Calabar International Demonstration School, Calabar, was designed to inspire, mentor, and equip young students with essential life skills, particularly in personal hygiene and leadership development.

The event witnessed active participation from students and staff, with facilitators engaging the learners in interactive sessions focused on personal development, hygiene practices, and responsible citizenship.

The outreach also highlighted the importance of empowering young girls, in line with the spirit of International Women’s Day.

Speaking during the program, the Principal of the school expressed profound appreciation to the YALI Network for bringing such a meaningful initiative to the institution.

He noted that beyond inspiration, the program provided practical support and mentorship that would have a lasting impact on the students.

By the end of the outreach, approximately 100 students had been positively impacted through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and distribution of educational and hygiene materials.

As part of its intervention, the YALI Network distributed about 100 branded 60-leaf exercise books bearing the YALI logo, mission, and vision, sanitary pads worth ₦30,000 to support female students, several laboratory coats awarded to outstanding students, cartons of toothbrushes, multiple packs of toothpaste and rolls of tissue paper, hand towels, and hygiene supplies

Additional items, including soaps, wipes, and other personal care materials.

The school management was also not left out, as they received various toiletry items to support the school’s welfare needs.

The YALI4SCHOOLS initiative reflects the Network’s continued commitment to community development, youth empowerment, and promoting healthy living among young people.

It also underscores the importance of partnerships in driving sustainable impact at the grassroots level.

Through programs like this, YALI Network Cross River State continues to nurture the next generation of leaders by equipping them with the knowledge, confidence, and tools needed to succeed in an ever-evolving world.
