Eze: Award a call to greater service
Reacting to the recognition, Eze said he was deeply honoured and humbled to receive an award from journalists, whom he described as people with the responsibility of informing the public, holding leaders accountable and shaping public opinion.
He expressed appreciation to the NUJ Correspondents’ Chapel for considering him worthy of the honour, urging journalists to continue serving as the conscience of the nation through courageous reporting, balanced stories and fair judgment.
According to him, the award represents not only recognition of his past contributions but also a renewed call to do more for society, particularly young Nigerians seeking opportunities to develop their potential.
He reaffirmed his commitment to creating opportunities for young people, stressing that leadership should be measured not by titles held but by the number of lives positively impacted.
“The honour is appreciated, the responsibility is understood, and the commitment to service remains unwavering,” Eze said.
Peter Eze youth connect drives youth engagement
Eze’s recognition highlights the importance of youth-focused initiatives amid persistent concerns over unemployment, skills development and access to economic opportunities for young Nigerians.
One of the initiatives associated with his youth development efforts is Peter Eze Youth Connect 2026, which brought together thousands of young people for engagement, mentorship, career guidance and access to professional development opportunities.
The initiative seeks to bridge the gap between young people and available opportunities by connecting participants with relevant institutions, professionals and stakeholders capable of supporting their career aspirations and economic advancement.
Through the platform, Eze has sought to promote mentorship, career exploration and professional networking, enabling young people to pursue greater economic independence and contribute meaningfully to societal development.
The event has been described by its organisers and supporters as one of the most popular and impactful youth-focused engagements of 2026, reflecting growing interest in initiatives that place young people at the centre of leadership, skills acquisition and national development.
The NUJ award adds to the recognition of efforts aimed at empowering young Nigerians and expanding their access to opportunities for personal and professional growth.
