Over 500 women’s support groups from across Nigeria have formally endorsed the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, following their integration into the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC) Women Wing.

The groups, which organisers said represent millions of Nigerian women voters, announced their decision at the APC Women Stakeholders’ Mobilisation and Empowerment Pre-Inaugural Summit held on Monday at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja.

Speaking at the summit, Hon. Princess Gloria Akobundu declared her support for the leadership of First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Akobundu, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council Women Mobilisation Wing and Secretary of the APC PCC Faith-Based Mobilisation (Christians), said Nigeria was firmly on the path of renewed greatness.

She urged Nigerian women, particularly those in the South-East and across the six geopolitical zones, to support President Tinubu’s re-election and ensure the consolidation of policies and programmes of the administration.

The summit was convened by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who used the occasion to rally APC women leaders and support groups ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In her address, the First Lady said the Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0, themed “From Reforms to Prosperity,” was moving beyond policy pronouncements to tangible outcomes.
She cited what she described as improvements in the economy, declining inflation, growing foreign reserves, renewed investor confidence, increased support for farmers and access to student loans through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

Senator Tinubu urged the women to return to their respective states and communities with the message that the administration had taken difficult decisions aimed at positioning the country for prosperity.

She also announced the integration of independent women support groups, including the Torch Bearers and other organisations, into a unified APC structure.

“What you will see on the ballot box is APC. We’re here to promote APC, nothing less,” the First Lady said, adding that the mobilisation would cover the Presidency, governorship, National Assembly and State Assembly elections.

She disclosed plans for six zonal mega rallies that would culminate in a grand finale in Abuja as part of the party’s women mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 elections.

Senator Tinubu also thanked the women for their support and urged them to remain committed to the administration and the APC.

She appealed to them to continue mobilising voters and support the President for a second term to enable the administration to build on what she described as the foundation already laid.

A major highlight of the summit was the empowerment of Nigerian women with livelihood and productive tools.

Beneficiaries received items including tricycles, sewing machines, refrigerators, agricultural implements and other equipment intended to support small businesses, agriculture and household income generation.

Akobundu congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to deploy the empowerment items productively.

“These items are not mere gifts; they are instruments of economic liberation,” she said, urging the beneficiaries to use the tools diligently and purposefully for the benefit of their families and communities.

Akobundu further called on Nigerian women voters to support the re-election of President Tinubu and the APC in 2027.

“I urge women voters everywhere to ensure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the consolidation of the good works already set in motion,” she said.

According to her, continuity would be essential to completing the transformation she believes has commenced under the present administration.

The summit attracted thousands of APC women leaders, including First Ladies of APC-controlled states, state women leaders, faith-based mobilisers and grassroots organisers.

The gathering formed part of the APC’s broader mobilisation strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the party’s women’s wing seeking to consolidate its support among female voters across the country.

As the participants returned to their respective states, Akobundu reiterated her call for women to remain united behind the APC and President Tinubu.

She said the women had a critical role to play in sustaining the administration’s programmes and ensuring victory for the APC at the 2027 polls.
