As part of efforts to create more avenues for those who could not formally attend classes, Wesley University Ondo, has launched e-learning platform and online teaching.

Speaking at a one-day training retreat to herald the official commencement of the virtual and online degree as well as Post Graduate Programmes of the faith-based university, the Vice Chancellor of Wesley University Ondo, Rt. Rev. Prof. Sunday Obeka, admonished all staff and students to brace up for the new reality as the university is set to become one of the top institutions in the delivery of quality education in the country through online.

In his keynote address, the guest speaker, a Full Bright scholar from Anderson University South Carolina USA, Prof. Kolawole Olaiya, alongside principal officers of the university who spoke at the event, highlighted the relevance and advantages of online and virtual learning which gives room for students to learn with technology.

Olaiya said that this also creates more avenues for those who could not formally attend classes to attend their classes online.

He stressed that virtual learning gives room for more research at group level and would place Wesley University Ondo among the rank of those institutions that are taking advantage of technology to aid education.

He added that the online and virtual teaching makes it even easier for lecturers to deliver lectures and for students to learn from wherever they are.

Full Bright scholar  pointed out that there are numerous platforms that can be used for online studies and advised students against cheating as he stated that it’s easier to be caught cheating online through the act of plagiarism.

He stated that online doesn’t allow room for any form of malpractice, and stressed that it rather allows for the lecturer to give enough materials to the students.
