Success, failure – A tale of multiple fathers, an orphan: Good governance asphyxiates virile opposition

Events of the Festive Season in Abia State was a justification and gave further credence to Alexander Nix’s Age Long saying that, “Success has many Fathers but failure is an Orphan.

During the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year festive and holiday window, Abia State was a choice destination for the political and non-political class irrespective of political party affiliation and alignment.

There was a rat race of interest to see, feel and confirm the revolutionary transformation of a hitherto backward Abia State and pay homage to the man steering the ship of the New Abia with precision and prudence.

The Sights and Sounds of the New Abia under Governor Alex Otti was re-echoed in Enugu, the Coal City by the President and Commander in Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, during his remarks where he commended Governor Otti as a performing Governors and partner in the development of the country.

Ochiagha Oko Ebitu Ukiwe, Former Senate President, Chief Adolphus Wabara, Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Chief Festus Keyamo, SAN, Minister of State for Labour, Dr. Nkeiruka Onyejiocha, Senator Nkechi Nworgu, Elder Statesman, Prince B. B. Apugo, Elder Statesman, Chief Geshun Amuta, Dr. Obioma Orji, APC Chieftain, Sir Mark Wabara, PDP Chieftain, Chief Dr.Emeka Kalu, Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba, Prof. A.C.B Agbazuere and even my good friend and Chairman of Akpor League, Abia Chapter have joined the army of excited and fulfilled Abians to commend and applaud Governor Otti for his developmental strides across the State including keeping the streets and environments clean, beautifying the streets with Roundabouts fitted with water fountains, rehabilitating, reconstructing and construction of roads, drainages, bridges and public buildings, erosion control, rehabilitating and retrofitting of public schools and health centres and institutions, massive installation of solar streetlights across the State for environmental security and to extend business hours, the Abia Airport Project and more.

Abia patriots and lovers of good things are converging to celebrate the success story of the New Abia while the diminished bitter wailers whose interest starts and ends in their stomach will never see anything good in public good until their imminent disappearance into the abyss of history.
