South -West support groups’ leaders urges Nigerians to uphold peace

Directors- General and National Coordinators of South -West support groups of All Progressive Congress (APC), have urged Nigerians to work towards ensuring that peace prevails ahead of the May 29th inauguration of political office holders in Nigeria.

Also they advised their party  the  need to address the support groups that are not happy with the way things are going on, including the issues of campaign funds for supporters and appointments  without proper consultation with them in the region.

In a statement made available to the press men, signed by  11 support groups’ leaders and Coordinated by, Director -General, Movement For Greater Nigeria (M4GN), Comrade Okedara, stated that the best thing that will happened to the nation now is to maintain peace and unity.

They added the groups’ leaders felt that taking a progressive steps is neccesary to put things in proper perspective for the support groups of  APC.

“Our progressive step was taken by meeting with Dr Ladan Nasir,  the Director General of Amalgamated APC support groups. Also few progressive  DGs groups delibrated and discussed way forward as regarding all the  support group.

” Ladan promised to facilitate a meeting to address gray arrears as soon as possible and find lasting solution to issues bedeviling against support group in the shortest of time.  We  are given him benefit of doubt to address it holistically as majority of  groups are not just happy with some leaders from our region (South-West),” they said.

The group also went to Unity Fountain  on solidarity to re-affirm the mandate freely given to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and to let the general public have an insight that the last general election was free and fair..

” We also met with the Daughter of the President-Elect ,  Chief Mrs Folashade Tinubu Ojo, who was on a humanitarian mission with the physically challenged people as she  donations of wheelchairs, and gifts to make them happy. They will not be  seeing themselves as handicap people but to be able to make impact to the country.

“We will not allow any form of manipulation to sabourtage or jeopardice the peace of this great nation. It is very important to inform the public that we are fully on ground at nooks and crannies of the country  to know the needs of every common Nigerians and to make sure that they are attended to by the incoming administration.

” We will also ensure that members of the of support groups who worked tirelessly in ensuring the victory of our principal are compensated and rewarded.

“We are appealing on behalf of our President- Elect that Nigerians should please work hand in hand with him for the advancement and progress of our dear country. We believed that the renewed hope agenda and programmes  of the new government will ease the nation in terms of electrification, agriculture, education, infrastructural and social development.

“By the grace of God, this government will heal our nation of religious and ethnic bigotry that have affected Nigeria as a country,” they assured.

” Asiwaju won landslide as annouced by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof. Yakubu Mammud, and we are appealing to those in opposition to join us in moving Nigeria forward. We have no other place than Nigeria to call ours. This is a renewed hope for us, let’s make Nigeria work again.

“We are appealing to our President Elect to appoint new and sincere people  in his government to paddle the affairs of our great country. Most especially,  all the APC suppport groups” leaders and members are willing to work along with you sacrificially and selflessness as we did before, during and after the general election. .

“Majority of the support groups have no Godfathers  nor financial. But we were able to financed the campaigns with our hard earned resources. Nobody recommends the President Elect to us before now but God. Because  we are hopeful that he  will do justice to his campaign  support groups.

“We were at the national APC headquaters of the party to present our case to the National Chairman but we are not able to see him due to engagement with the  senators and house of representative elect. We will keep pushing for all until we saw light at the end of the tunnel, ” they stated.
