Primate Ayodele cautions Tinubu against trusted allies, says North will work against him

Founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has issued a prophetic warning to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declaring that the Nigerian leader is “sitting on a time bomb” politically and may face serious setbacks ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement made public on Monday, Primate Ayodele cautioned that President Tinubu should not place blind trust in some governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as well as certain ministers and Special Advisers currently serving in his administration.

According to the cleric, although Tinubu means well for Nigeria and possesses strong strategic abilities, several of the people he is relying on to secure a second term may ultimately fail him.

“Tinubu is sitting on a time bomb. Not all APC governors will work for APC, not all of them. Tinubu must not trust them, not even his ministers,” Primate Ayodele warned.

He further revealed that discontent from parts of the northern region could pose a significant political challenge to the president, making governance and future electoral calculations more difficult than anticipated.

“The north is not happy. They will make things hard. You have to restrategize if you want to win,” he said.

Primate Ayodele described President Tinubu as a capable political tactician but stressed that a change in strategy is urgently needed to avoid political disappointment.

“You are a good strategy person, and you mean well for Nigeria, but the point is, those you rely on may not deliver,” he added.

The outspoken cleric, who has in the past made several political prophecies ahead of major elections in Nigeria, urged the president to re-evaluate his inner circle and political alliances, warning that misplaced loyalty and overconfidence in certain party leaders could weaken his political base.

He advised President Tinubu to remain vigilant, restructure his political approach, and broaden consultations across party lines and regions to stabilize his administration and strengthen his prospects for a second term.

Primate Ayodele concluded by emphasizing that ignoring these warnings could expose the president to unexpected political betrayal and internal party opposition, which may undermine his leadership and long-term political goals.
