Police smash trans-border gunrunning syndicate, arrest key dealer

In a major breakthrough in the fight against arms proliferation and related crimes, the Nigeria Police Force has smashed a trans-border gunrunning syndicate and arrested its key dealer.
The arrest, which was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Nigeria Police Force’s Intelligence Response Team (IRT) and other security agencies, has dealt a significant blow to the illicit arms trade in the country.
According to the Police, the arrested dealer, who has been identified as a major player in the trans-border gunrunning syndicate, was found in possession of a large cache of firearms and ammunition.
