Police engage bandits in gun duel, recover stolen cows in Kebbi State

Kebbi State Police Commissioner, CP Bello Sani, has condemned the recent attack by suspected Lakurawa bandits on Natsini village, which resulted in the loss of two police officers’ lives.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Kebbi State Command,
SP Nafiu Abubakar, the incident occurred on January 3, 2025, when the bandits invaded Alhaji Lawal Black Farm and nearby Fulani settlements, rustling an unspecified number of cows.
A team of Police Safer Highway patrol officers responded promptly to the report, engaging the bandits in a gun duel and recovering some of the stolen cows. Unfortunately, two police officers lost their lives during the encounter.
CP Bello M Sani visited the scene of the incident and later condoled with the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Dr. Sama’ila Muhammad Mera, briefing him on the efforts of combined security agencies to combat crimes in the area.
The police commissioner reiterated the command’s commitment to combating security challenges in Kebbi State.
