Organisers express gratitude as Ogbinbiri National Day records successful outing

Organisers of the Ogbinbiri National Day and the 13th Ogbinbiri National Day have expressed profound gratitude to all those who made the colourful twin events possible.

In a press statement jointly signed by Chairman, Welfare Committee, Ogbinbiri Federated Community, High Chief Kari Ebipade, and Comrade Shagari Sobo
Secretary, Welfare Committee, Ogbinbiri Federated Community, Comrade Shagari Sobo, the organisers noted that “the Great Ogbinbiri National Day has come and was celebrated with deep honour, cultural pride, and a strong connection across borders. Sons and daughters in the diaspora, alongside people from different communities and kingdoms, came together in unity to express our deepest appreciation to humanity and to our shared heritage.

“The Great Ogbinbiri National Day stands as a movement for peace building, community development, and the harmonisation and reintegration of our cultural values as coastal people. Most profound was the reunion that brought joy through songs, dances, and the colourful attires of our women and men, beautifully defining our true cultural identity”.

Among dignitaries that graced the occasion were the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Denis Guwor, Chairman of the Day, High Chief Engr. Kestin Ebimobowei Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Service Nigeria Limited, Father of the Day, High Chief Barr. Macdonald Igbadiwei, Traditional Prime Minister, Ijaw Gbaraun, Bayelsa State.

Also in attendance were Mr. Matthew Tonlagha, Chief Lucky Youbogha, Chairman, Warri North LGA, Hon. Ashima Festus, Chief Simeon Bebenimibo and Chief Fezigha Odu.

The statement commended the unity and tenacity of purpose demonstrated by stakeholders and community leaders in Ogbinbiri, Southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa state before, during and after the National Day celebration, describing it as exemplary and salutary.

“With one voice, one community, one unity, and one shared vision of development, we sincerely appreciate everyone who contributed to the success of this historic celebration. We particularly acknowledge the organising communities, welfare committees, and all other committees whose dedication ensured the success of the event. Special appreciation also goes to High Chief Promise Lawuru, the Ozigizaga, for demonstrating outstanding leadership capacity within the Ogbinbiri Community and Egbema Kingdom.

“We give thanks to God Almighty for making this celebration possible. We remain eternally grateful for His guidance and grace”.

The Ogbinbiri National Day organisers stressed that the presence of guests at the occasion added immense value, dignity, and encouragement to the celebration.

“Despite your busy schedules, your decision to stand with us was deeply meaningful and will not be forgotten. We remain grateful for your goodwill, support, and solidarity with our people.

“As we move forward in unity, may God bless us all as we continue to build communities anchored on peace, development, and better living. To everyone who supported this celebration in one way or another, the list is indeed endless. We thank you all sincerely.

“Once again, thank you for standing with us. We remain honoured and grateful. God bless you richly”, the statement added.
