Nigeria governance: Woeful performance of APC from 2015 to 2024

In Nigeria particularly under Mohammad Buhari, elections in Nigeria have become a war in election days. The most unacceptable aspect of those election wars is its ethnic dimension.

The Igbo and Nigeria wars always come up, and each time, a strategic change in Nigeria through constitutional conferences or elections is organized every four years.

It came up in 2015, when the anti-Jonathan government leaders from Southwest and North, saw President Goodluck Jonathan as an Igboman, that must not be allowed to continue after the 2015 election to the extent that the conspirators that organized the anti-Goodluck Jonathan’s rally from Southwest and North sponsored their followers and supporters and equipped them with petrol and matches, to set Nigeria on fire, if Jonathan was declared the president,  according to intelligence reports from election monitoring groups /organizations.

That 2023 election was gun and knife in the southwest particularly Lagos State, while the federal security agents, particularly the Police, supervised the lawlessness, criminality, and political terrorism against the supporters of the opposition parties, particularly the Labour Party.

Another heaven will fall in 2027; maybe nuclear weapons will be used in the 2027 elections, to consolidate the atrocities of the 2023 elections in Nigeria and upgrade the terror tactics: and to also block any form of change through a democratic process(es).

But why has it become a constitution according to the making of Mohammad Buhari under the APC canopy?

A party that has performed within a specific time frame does not need a war and terror strategy or tactics, to win elections or remain in power. The only party that chooses it as the only and last option, is a corrupt government that has visibly shown non-achievement and performance.

How do you calculate the underperformance of any government? It’s a simple formula: The revenue received from when elected, and when tenure expires.

One doesn’t need to be a professor of public accountability, to explore and expose this point of entry, and that of exit to understand performance and underperformance.

So where were we from 2015 – 2023; and from 2023 till now and when?

The answer is like something that is worn around the wrist, that doesn’t require a mirror before being seen.

We are contending with the internal disorder, mismanagement, and misrule of this government, and the external pressure of international economic and political order and politics, that were designed to service colonial, segregative, and racist inclinations of the beneficiaries of slavery, colonialism, and post-independence political arrangement and order of the colonized territories. The disadvantage of post-colonial spaces, is that have incompetent and poorly educated leaders who are obtusely ill-equipped to participate in international economic and political debates, discussions, and games in the international economic and political environment.

They more or less attend such high profile international fora, as spectators or strollers because of a lack of understanding of international politics, that is more of the snake that didn’t swallow another snake, will not become fat.

That is why the Northern Hemisphere is celebrating breakthroughs and development, while countries like Nigeria, are breeding and brooding spaces for poverty, illiteracy, and insecurity. And a place where in the Newspapers, so much money was budgeted and spuriously spent, but nothing to show for it in the wards and political constituencies; from one regime to another, particularly since 2015 in Nigeria till the present.

The only news is inflation and the high cost of living, which are simply and pure cosmetic economic concepts being propagated to continue the institution of inequalities by a few privileged persons in power and strategic economic and political positions.

It’s not a sign of moving forward. Anti-development tactics, that has spurred all manner of anti-reasonable social behavioural propensities and patterns, that are injurious to nation-building and national development; including the excitement of anti-government proclivities in the indigenous ethnic nationalities, that are seeing no future in a corrupt setup as currently obtained in the political order of the Nigerian system.
