Naval Officers’ Wives Association distributes palliates to Okutukutu Community in Bayelsa State

As part of efforts to support humanity, Naval Officers’ Wives Association (NOWA) distributed palliatives to residents of Okutukutu Community area of Bayelsa State.

The acting NOWA Zonal Coordinator, Central Naval Command chapter, Mrs Adeola Soyemi led other members to perform the palliatives distribution exercise.

Addressing beneficiaries who comprises Widows, elderly women, middle age women, men and children of the community, Mrs Soyemi said the distribution of palliatives was part of the charitable activities of NOWA as enshrined in her mission statement.

She reiterated that NOWA was out to fulfill her objectives of Promoting love among Naval officers’ wives and family, promoting harmony between officers and the community they serve, by giving back to the community amongst other objectives.

While expressing her deep concerns for the hardship faces by widows and elderly women, Mrs Soyemi urged them to see the palliatives as earnest contribution of NOWA to ease their situation.

She commended the Flag Officer Commanding CNC, Rear Admiral Samson Bura for his kindness and full support to the association, adding that his quick response to providing support made it possible for the success of the outreach.

Earlier in his speech, the leader of Okutukutu Community, Franklin Akintola extended the deepest appreciation of residents of the community to NOWA, stressing that the gesture further justifies the cordial relationship between military and the civilian community.

After the distribution exercise,the NOWA women accompanied by members of the Naval Ratings Wives Association (NARAWA) CNC Chapter went to appreciate the Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command, Admiral  Bura for his unflinching support towards achieving the feat.

Items distributed include; rice, packs of noodles, vegetable oil etc.
