NAIC resumes operations after fire incident at Abuja headquarters

Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC) has announced the resumption of normal business operations at its corporate headquarters in Abuja following a fire outbreak that disrupted activities earlier in the week.

According to the General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation, Magdalene Omosimua, the Corporation said operations will fully resume on Thursday, March 5, 2026, after a temporary suspension of activities caused by the fire incident that occurred on Tuesday, March 3, at its head office building.

The management explained that the decision to halt operations around the premises immediately after the incident was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of staff, tenants, customers and other occupants within the facility.

Emergency responders from the Federal Fire Service were said to have arrived promptly at the scene and successfully contained the fire, preventing it from spreading and causing more extensive damage.

Following the incident, the Corporation carried out a series of safety assessments and precautionary checks within the building to ensure that the environment remained safe for workers, visitors and other stakeholders before reopening the premises.

The agency expressed appreciation to the fire service for their swift and professional response, which helped bring the situation under control within a short time.

NAIC also thanked its customers, partners, tenants and members of the public for their patience and understanding during the brief disruption in operations.

The statement reaffirmed the Corporation’s commitment to delivering on its mandate and providing uninterrupted services to stakeholders as normal activities resume.
