Mother commends LASUTH for operating 7-year-old son without full payment, seeks help to raise balance

Parents of 7-year-old Master Uche Anuka are in a desperate bid to raise N2.5 million for a critical neurosurgery at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

The child has been diagnosed with a brain condition that requires immediate surgical intervention.

Despite the high cost of the surgery, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) operated on the child without demanding full payment, a gesture that the mother, Mrs. Ngozi Anuka, has commended.

However, the family is now struggling to raise the balance to settle the hospital bill, which includes daily oxygen payment and other treatment.

“We are devastated by our son’s condition and the financial burden it has placed on us,” said Mrs. Anuka.

“We are appealing to the First Ladies of Lagos and Delta States, as well as other kind-hearted individuals and organizations, for urgent assistance.”
The family is facing additional financial strain, struggling to pay a daily oxygen bill of N24,000.

Despite their desire to take their son home, LASUTH has advised against it due to his critical condition.

So far, the family has received only N5,000 in donations through their appeal in The Mirror Newspaper over the one month.

Time is running out, and the family is counting on the kindness of strangers to help them raise the necessary funds.
