Nigeria’s marketing and communications industry is set for another major celebration as the Nigerian Marketing Awards (NMA) has officially unveiled plans for its landmark fifth edition, reaffirming its commitment to promoting excellence, creativity, innovation and measurable impact across the nation’s marketing ecosystem.
The prestigious awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 21, 2026, at The Jewel Aeida, Lekki, Lagos, bringing together leading marketing professionals, business executives, agency leaders, policymakers, academics, media practitioners and other key stakeholders to celebrate outstanding achievements within the industry.
Organisers disclosed that entries for the 2026 edition will open on August 15 and close on September 22, giving brands, agencies, organisations and marketing professionals ample opportunity to submit their most exceptional campaigns, innovations and initiatives for consideration across 31 competitive categories.
The fifth edition is themed “Reimagine Marketing,” a concept designed to encourage marketing professionals to rethink traditional approaches, embrace innovation and redefine the role of marketing in driving business success, consumer value and national development.
Adding prestige to the event, Amstel Malta has been confirmed as the Headline Sponsor for the 2026 edition, reflecting a shared commitment to celebrating excellence, innovation and outstanding performance in Nigeria’s marketing landscape.
Since its establishment in 2022, the Nigerian Marketing Awards has evolved into one of the country’s most respected platforms for recognising exceptional contributions to marketing. Over the past four editions, the awards have built a reputation for credibility, transparency and rigorous assessment through an independent judging process supervised by the Awards Decision Council, comprising seasoned professionals renowned for their integrity and expertise.
Speaking on the significance of the fifth anniversary, the Founder of the Nigerian Marketing Awards, Tony Agenmonmen, described the milestone as a defining moment in the evolution of the awards.
He said the fifth edition represents much more than an anniversary, noting that it celebrates the progress made by Nigeria’s marketing industry while inspiring practitioners to imagine even greater possibilities.
According to him, the future belongs to brands and professionals willing to challenge assumptions, embrace creativity and emerging technologies, gain deeper insights into consumer behaviour and deliver meaningful impact.
He explained that through the theme, “Reimagine Marketing,” the organisers are encouraging the industry to move beyond conventional thinking and reconsider the broader role marketing can play in advancing businesses, empowering consumers, strengthening communities and contributing to national development.
He added that the awards seek to recognise organisations and professionals whose work not only adapts to change but actively shapes the future of the industry through innovation and bold thinking.
The organisers observed that the 2026 edition comes at a critical period when marketing is being transformed by artificial intelligence, data-driven decision-making, changing consumer expectations, digital platforms, economic realities and increasing demands for responsible business practices.
Against this backdrop, the theme challenges marketers to successfully combine creativity with commercial effectiveness, technology with human understanding, and business ambitions with positive social impact.
Awards will be presented across a wide range of categories recognising excellence in brand management, advertising campaigns, digital marketing, experiential marketing, innovation, sustainability, reputation management, agencies, corporate organisations and outstanding individual professionals.
Eligible organisations and practitioners have been encouraged to begin preparing their entries ahead of the opening date, ensuring that submissions clearly demonstrate strategic thinking, originality, effective execution and measurable results.
As the Nigerian Marketing Awards enters its fifth year, the organisation reaffirmed its commitment to promoting marketing as a vital driver of enterprise growth, innovation, consumer satisfaction, economic development and national progress.
The organisers also announced the key dates for the 2026 edition. Entries will open on August 15 and close on September 22, while the awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2026, at The Jewel Aeida in Lekki, Lagos.
The Nigerian Marketing Awards is endorsed by several leading industry and professional bodies, including the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria, Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria and Nigerian Institute of Public Relations. The awards also hold the Trust Mark of the UK-based Independent Awards Standards Council.
