Ika Nation breathes a sigh of relief as Ute-Ekuku Agbor -Owa Alidinma road rehabilitation nears completion

The ongoing rehabilitation of failed sections of Ute – Ekuku Agbor – Owa Alidinma Flow Station Junction Road attracted by Mr. Chiedu Ebie, Chairman, Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), is of great relief to the good people of Ika Federal Constituency and other road users in Delta State.
Not only are they excited but the rehabilitation work also rekindles the people’s hope of enjoying access to motorable roads.
Information gathered during a visit to the project site reveals that work is on the top gear and the rehabilitation nearing completion as the two sides of drainages and earthwork filling at Alidinma have been completed.
In addition to cleaning and desilting at Alidinma, a stone base is also being laid while the repair of failed drainage at Obiduhor and construction of 800m drains to channel runoff water to a canal is almost completed.
In a related development, failed sections of Ute Erumu are receiving similar attention as they are being filled with stone base.
Said one of the men working at the project site, “Repair of failed drains at Obiduhor and construction of 800m drains to channel runoff water to the canal, cut and fill failed portions with stone base is ongoing.
Currently, we are working on Ute Erumu’s failed sections by cutting and filling failed sections with stone base. We are also clearing to stabilize the failed portion at Ute Erumu and to provide drainage’
