Ibom Air’s Group Manager emerges as Inaugural Chairman of NIMN Uyo Chapter
Ibom Air’s Group Manager, Marketing and Communications, Mrs. Aniekan Essienette, FNIMN has been elected the first Chairman of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, Uyo Chapter, a strategic move to position the Institute in Uyo, the fastest growing commercial hub in Nigeria.
Her election was a key highlight of the 2025 Annual Marketing Conference & General Meeting (AMC/AGM) of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) and the formal inauguration of the Uyo Chapter, held on June 19, 2025, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
While the broader conference explored the theme “Leveraging Environmental Social Governance (ESG) in Driving Value Across Generations,” the inauguration marked a significant milestone for marketing professionals in the State, as Uyo officially joined NIMN’s expanding network of regional chapters.
The National President and Chairman of the Council, Mr. Idoreyen Enang, presided over the ceremony and administered the oath of office to the newly inaugurated executive council led by Mrs. Aniekan Essienette, FNIMN, who now serves as Chairman for a two-year term.
Other founding executive members include are, Dr. Samuel G. Etuk – Vice Chairman; Dr. Ini Smart Udoh – Secretary; and Dr. Orok Asuquo Imagha – Assistant Secretary! Mr. Aniekan Rupert Inwang – Financial Secretary; Dr. (Mrs.) Emem Akaninyene Sampson – Treasurer; Dr. Aniefiok Okon Akpan – Welfare Officer and Mr. Uwem Archibong Okon – Public Relations Officer (PRO).
In her acceptance speech, the Chairman, Mrs. Aniekan Essienette, FNIMN expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the President and members of the Council for their unwavering support in establishing the Uyo Chapter.
She pledged to uphold the tenets of the marketing profession, promote ethical leadership, and work collaboratively to position the chapter as a vibrant hub for excellence and innovation.
President Enang, in his remarks, commended the inauguration committee for a job well done and celebrated the establishment of the Uyo Chapter as a fulfilled aspiration under his leadership.
He emphasized the importance of strategic collaboration and focused execution in ensuring the chapter’s success and long-term impact.
