Humble story of a golden governor @ one

Governor Umo Eno’s journey from a humble beginning as the son of a late policeman in Lagos to becoming the Governor of Akwa Ibom State is nothing short of inspiring.

His story is a testimony to resilience, faith, and determination in the face of adversity.

After losing his father at a young age, Governor Umo Eno faced numerous challenges but refused to succumb to despair.

Fueled by a strong desire to succeed, he started selling rice and stew by the roadside in Eket to support himself, famiky and pursue his education.

His entrepreneurial spirit eventually led him to establish a small hotel business with five rooms, which grew into the renowned Royalty Group with hotels in major cities across Nigeria.

Despite his success in the hospitality industry, Governor Umo Eno felt a higher calling and decided to dedicate his life to serving God.

He embarked on a spiritual journey that led him to found the Church of All Nations, expanding its reach to over 50 branches worldwide.

After three decades in the hotel and catering business and serving as a devoted minister of God, Governor Umo Eno felt compelled to enter the realm of politics. Despite facing numerous obstacles and legal challenges,

Many initially deemed him unqualified for such a prestigious role, but God deemed him worthy. Despite facing over a hundred court cases, he emerged victorious in each one. Once mocked, he is now revered by his former critics.

He secured the nomination of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and went on to be elected as the Governor of Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria.

And took oath of office on May 29, 2023, as the Governor of Akwa Ibom State. His unwavering faith and determination saw him emerge victorious.

As Governor, Umo Eno wasted no time in implementing transformative policies that prioritized the welfare of the people and tagged his vision ‘ARISE Agenda’

His administration introduced free meals for the poorest residents, provided housing for the homeless,
36 families have been provided with two-bedroom bungalows complete with clean water and furnishings.

The retiree in the state has injected new life into the system by disbursing approximately 16.7 billion Naira in gratuities to pensioners. Civil servants have also received their overdue leave grants and promotional allowances.

Under his leadership, efforts are underway to boost the economy and generate employment opportunities by developing new enterprises.

Governor Umo Eno has allocated over five billion Naira directly to entrepreneurs through various initiatives and has earmarked an additional 4.5 billion Naira for interest-free loans.

Governor Umo Eno has placed a strong emphasis on rural and agricultural development. This focus has led to the establishment of a modern farm in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area and the promotion of commercial farming by providing mechanized farming equipment to farmers.

Furthermore, he has facilitated interest-free loan access to cooperative farmers and is actively enhancing rural development by constructing new roads, modern markets, and upgrading primary healthcare facilities.

Under his administration, Akwa Ibom State built model schools that are conducive for learning, CKS and Ewet Model Schools are typical examples.

Education is now free from primary to secondary school, with the state government covering Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) exam fees amounting to over 780 million Naira annually.

Governor Umo Eno has initiated the construction of over two hundred kilometers of roads, with 17 bridges and 76 kilometers already completed within a year.

He is funding the completion of over 44 roads construction in Direct Labour- intervention projects, totaling 37.456 kilometers and 39 Mega Road construction projects, totaling 335.756 kilometers, and he had released over one hundred and twenty billion Naira for roads construction.

Governor Umo Eno. Known for his gentle spirit and unwavering dedication to unity, Governor Eno had managed to transcend political party lines and bring his people together in a truly extraordinary way.

As a man of peace and vision, Governor Eno believed in the power of unity and collaboration. He saw beyond the divisions that had long plagued his state and worked tirelessly to bridge the gaps that separated his people.

With his calm demeanor and inclusive approach to governance, Governor Eno quickly became a unifying figure in Akwa Ibom State.

Under his leadership, the people of Akwa Ibom began to see themselves not as members of different political parties, but as one united community with a shared vision for a better future.

Governor Eno’s message of harmony and cooperation resonated deeply with his constituents, and soon, political party lines began to blur and fade into insignificance.

Within a remarkably short span of time, Governor Umo Eno’s name became synonymous with unity and progress. His policies and initiatives brought tangible improvements to the lives of the people, and his humble and down-to-earth nature endeared him to all who knew him. In every corner of Akwa Ibom State, Governor Eno’s name was spoken with reverence and admiration.
