Harnessing AI in education: Expert Rotimi Awaye urges educators to lead at Ife Education conference 3.0

Renowned AI expert, Chief Executive
Officer and Lead Consultant at Kini AI, Rotimi Awaye, has issued a call to action for educators to take the lead in adopting artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies.

Speaking at the Ife Education Conference 3.0, Awaye emphasized the transformative potential of AI in education and urged educators to harness its power to enhance teaching and learning experiences.

“We cannot afford to be the last adopters of AI,” he said. “People in computer science, media, and business are already leveraging these tools. As educators, who shape and train future professionals, we must be intentional about learning and applying them too.”

Awaye noted that curiosity and a willingness to engage are key, regardless of one’s academic background. “You don’t need a science degree to understand artificial intelligence. Start small, get familiar, and position yourself for the disruptions redefining industries worldwide,” he urged.

As CEO of Kini AI, Awaye leads initiatives helping businesses and institutions across Africa harness artificial intelligence for innovation, efficiency, and growth. His call reinforces the growing consensus that Africa’s education sector must play an active role in preparing a workforce ready for an AI-driven future.

The conference, themed “The Ripple Effect: How Education Fuels Progress in Every Sector”, convened stakeholders from academia, technology, and business to explore how education can catalyze sustainable development across industries.
