Groundbreaking partnership: Wesley University Ondo, Bishop Awosika Memorial Hospital collaborate for better healthcare

Wesley University, Ondo, has taken a significant step towards advancing healthcare education and training by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Bishop Awosika Memorial Hospital, Ondo.

This landmark agreement, which took effect on January 1, 2025, aimd to foster collaboration in research, student training, and healthcare services.

The partnership will facilitate joint research projects, Student Industrial Work Experience (SIWES) placements, and practical training for Wesley University students at Bishop Awosika Memorial Hospital.

Students and staff will also benefit from a 30% discount on medical services, access to well-equipped laboratories, and hands-on experience in X-ray and lab tests.

According to the Vice-Chancellor of Wesley University, Rt. Revd. Prof. Samuel Sunday Obeka, this collaboration aligns with the university’s mission to provide practical and research-driven education.

Director of Bishop Awosika Memorial Hospital, Mr. Olubankue Awosika, also expressed the hospital’s commitment to supporting Wesley University students in their academic and professional development.

This partnership reinforces Wesley University’s dedication to bridging the gap between academia and healthcare practice, ensuring that students receive hands-on training to excel in their respective fields.
