Governor Eno, over the week, continued to grow from strength to strength, making an undeniable mark in his political journey.

Governor Eno is one of the few governors chosen by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to accompany him to the United Kingdom on the invitation of King Charles III. According to the Governor, it was a rare privilege, as he also had the opportunity to meet investors who may be interested in doing business with the Akwa Ibom State Government in due course.

Other activities carried out by the Governor within the week under review include: Gov. Eno joined his aide, Barr. Morgan Ekanem, Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties, for his child’s dedication at Victory Chapel, Uyo, Sunday (March 15). Gov. Eno felicitated Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke on his birthday, Monday (March 16). Gov. Eno condoled with the Chairman of Onna Local Government, Hon. Kufre Umoren, over the demise of his mother, Tuesday (March 17).

Gov. Eno joined President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at a reception ceremony in his honour by King Charles III in the United Kingdom, on Wednesday (March 18). Gov. Eno felicitated Orman Esin on his birthday, Thursday (March 19). Gov. Eno was interviewed by Government House Correspondents upon his return from the UK trip, Friday (March 20).

Gov. Eno attended the Night of Songs and Tributes in honour of the late Rev. (Dr.) Uma Ukpai, Friday (March 20). Gov. Eno sympathised with Obong Prince Ikim, through the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, over the demise of his father, Friday (March 20). Gov. Eno joined the Government House Monthly Prayer Service at Latter Day House Chapel, Government House, Uyo, Saturday (March 21).

Gov. Eno attended the wedding ceremony of Nsikakabasi Udeme Otong, son of the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, on Saturday (March 21), and Gov. Eno celebrated Pastor Nita Nita on his 54th birthday, Saturday (March 21).

As widely reported in the media during the week, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in his magnanimity, extended an invitation to our Golden Boy, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, the performing Governor of Akwa Ibom State, to join him at a reception ceremony organised by King Charles III in honour of the President in the United Kingdom.

What comes to mind is the cordial relationship that exists between Governor Eno and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. At some point, following the emergence of Pastor Umo Eno as one of the gubernatorial candidates in 2022, he was dismissed outright as an unpopular candidate who was not even a politician.

Today, in less than three years, Governor Eno has come to dominate the political landscape at the state, national, and international levels, making positive waves across the board.

The invitation by President Tinubu to Governor Umo Eno to accompany him to the United Kingdom is highly significant. It underscores the level of recognition and respect the President has for the Governor. This is indeed a welcome development for the people of Akwa Ibom State, especially as we continue to seek federal support for the commencement of the Ibom Deep Seaport project.

On an interview granted by Gov. Eno after the UK trip

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to further reforms and investments in the power and maritime sectors to boost the state’s economy.
He gave the assurance at the Victor Attah International Airport while fielding questions from Government House Correspondents upon his return from the United Kingdom, where he accompanied President Tinubu on a state visit.

The Governor stated that the trip afforded him the opportunity to meet investors, particularly in the power sector, and assured the people of Akwa Ibom of positive outcomes from those engagements.

He noted that his administration has taken strategic steps toward transforming the power sector while also working diligently to realise its vision for the Ibom Deep Seaport.

“We expect something good from the interaction. It takes a lot of work, whether it is the Ibom Deep Seaport or power; it takes a lot of effort.

We have made giant strides in reforming the power sector, but it takes time. It is not a walk in the park; it is precept upon precept.”

The Governor expressed concern over the current national power outage and reiterated his administration’s commitment to changing the narrative.

At the Ibom Deep Seaport, Governor Eno urged Akwa Ibom people to exercise patience, assuring them of his administration’s focus and commitment to delivering the project.

Gov. Eno eulogies Uma Ukpai at night of tributes

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has described the late Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai as a gift to the state and humanity.

The Governor made this known on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the Night of Songs and Tributes organised by the State Government as part of the funeral rites held at the International Christian Worship Centre, Uyo.

He described the deceased as an embodiment of morality who used his global influence to advance causes that supported the poor and downtrodden.
Governor Eno commended the late cleric for his role as a mentor and spiritual leader whose contributions helped shape the spiritual identity of the state.

He also appreciated him for founding the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, headquartered in Uyo, through which he propagated the gospel globally with passion, power, and prophetic insight.

The Governor noted that his administration has focused on developing the state through tourism, youth empowerment, and rural development, ensuring that all 368 wards feel the impact of governance.

He assured that the legacy and vision of the late Rev. Ukpai would be sustained.

On Barr. Morgan Ekanem’s child dedication

Governor Eno charged young people to remain diligent and committed in their endeavours to achieve their dreams.

He gave this charge during the dedication of baby Blossom Morgan Ekanem, daughter of Barr. Morgan Ekanem, at Victory Chapel, University of Uyo Township Campus.

The Governor praised Ekanem’s dedication to service, describing him as dependable and efficient.
