Enobong Uwah, ALGON Chairman, others lead thousands of APC faithful to Home-Going Weekend

Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prince Enobong Uwah, has reaffirmed the unwavering loyalty and support of Uyo Local Government Area to Governor Umo Eno, declaring that the people will continue to stand with the administration in recognition of its fairness, inclusiveness, and commitment to development.

Speaking at a well-attended APC Home-Going Weekend, the SSG said Uyo’s support for the Governor is rooted in gratitude and trust.

“I bring you greetings from Pastor Umo Eno, who asked me to thank you sincerely for your continuous support to his administration. The very first appointment announced by the Governor was that of the SSG—so why won’t Uyo support his administration? I thought I was coming for a meeting, only to walk into this kind of rally,” he said.

In his welcome address, the APC Chapter Chairman, Mr. Gabriel Ikpe, commended the leaders and members for their cooperation and unity, stressing that the APC remains the dominant political party in the state and will win convincingly in 2027.

Also speaking, the Member Representing Uyo State Constituency in the AKHA, Hon. Uwemedimo Asuquo, emphasised that Uyo has no justification to stand outside the APC fold, noting that the Governor has appointed the SSG, the ALGON Chairman, the UCCDA Chairman, and several other key officials from the local government area.

He maintained that with such representation, there is no reason for the people to assume an opposition stance, and he expressed confidence that the APC would secure one hundred percent victory in the forthcoming election.

On his part, the Chairman of UCCDA, Sir Anietie Eka, stressed that the Governor’s performance has already settled any debate surrounding the 2027 elections.

Eka said attention should now shift further ahead, asserting that 2027 is already secured given the Governor’s impressive achievements across all sectors, which he said have made the party proud.

Also speaking, Hon. Monday Eyo lauded the Governor for promoting unity across the entire state, noting that the harmonious atmosphere at the gathering was a direct result of the Governor’s efforts. He expressed confidence that the Governor’s commitment to unifying the state would translate into a smooth electoral process.

Similarly, the ALGON Chairman, Dr. Uwemedimo Udo, commended the SSG for his guidance and consistent support to the people from Wards 1 to 11.

He thanked the State Governor for appointing their son as Secretary to the State Government and highlighted the Governor’s commendable record in projects and contracts. He promised to mobilize grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Pastor Umo Eno, and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

On his part, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Entrepreneurial Development, Mr. Ime Uwah, who spoke on behalf of the aides, assured the Governor of their support and commitment to ensuring a seamless and decisive victory for the APC in the forthcoming elections.

High points of the well-attended event included the accreditation and revalidation of APC membership, the official handing over of the party register to the SSG, and goodwill messages from stakeholders, women, youths, elders, non-indigenes, and clan representatives, all affirming their unalloyed support for Governor Umo Eno’s second term.
