D.U.G., GCON political family congratulates Ebie, Ofume, Okafor on APC Campaign appointments
Celebrates D.U.G.’s growing strategic influence in Delta State Chiedu Ebie’s statewide responsibility offers valuable opportunity to connect strategic direction with grassroots realities

Delta Unity Group (D.U.G.) and GCON PoliticalFamily have heartily congratulated Mr. Chiedu Ebie, Esq., Chairman, Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and Co-founder of D.U.G.; Hon. Fred Ofume, Secretary-General of D.U.G.; and Mr. Davidson Okafor, Coordinator of D.U.G. in Ika South Local Government Area, on their respective appointments into the Delta State All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council and its associated campaign structures.
The group described the appointments as a source of immense pride and satisfaction, noting that they represent recognition of the appointees’ experience, political commitment, organisational capacity and sustained contributions to the party and the political development of Delta State.
According to a statement made available by Jerome-Mario Utomi, Media Aide to Mr. Chiedu Ebie, Mr. Ebie has been appointed Deputy Director-General of the Delta State APC Campaign Council; Mr. Davidson Okafor has been named Chairman of the Ika Federal Constituency Campaign/Election Management Committee; while Hon. Fred Ofume has been appointed a member of the Ika South Local Government Area Campaign/Election Management Committee.
Congratulating the three distinguished members of its political family, D.U.G./GCON wished them wisdom, resilience and success as they assume these important responsibilities. The group noted that their appointments place its members in strategic positions across the state, federal constituency and local government levels, reinforcing the movement’s capacity to contribute meaningfully to political coordination, mobilisation and the pursuit of shared objectives.
For D.U.G., these appointments represent more than a moment of celebration. They underscore the growing strategic relevance of the movement within Delta State’s political landscape and affirm the value of sustained organisation, relationship-building, constructive engagement and consistent participation in the political process.
The presence of D.U.G. members across different levels of the campaign structure demonstrates the movement’s expanding reach and its growing capacity to connect political leadership with grassroots realities. It also reinforces the importance of organised political platforms that combine loyalty, strategic thinking, collaboration and a readiness to serve beyond narrow interests.
The group observed that political relevance is measured not merely by the positions individuals occupy but also by the responsibility, discipline, integrity and public-minded service they bring to those positions. It therefore urged Ebie, Ofume and Okafor to discharge their respective assignments with diligence, humility, fairness and an unwavering commitment to teamwork.
Their conduct and contributions, the group emphasised, should strengthen confidence among party members, promote constructive engagement among stakeholders and demonstrate that the trust reposed in them is well deserved.
Furthermore, the group noted that Mr. Ebie’s statewide responsibility, complemented by Mr. Okafor’s constituency-level assignment and Hon. Ofume’s role in Ika South, presents a valuable opportunity to bridge strategic political direction with grassroots mobilisation and local realities.
This combination of statewide influence, constituency engagement and local government participation highlights D.U.G.’s growing position as a strategic political movement in Delta State. Through sustained participation, the cultivation of relationships across political levels and the emergence of its members in positions of responsibility, the group continues to demonstrate its capacity to contribute to the state’s evolving political landscape.
As members of the D.U.G./GCON Political Family, we regard these appointments as a shared achievement and, more importantly, a call to greater service. We are confident that the appointees will work harmoniously with party leaders, stakeholders and fellow campaign officials, remaining focused on their respective mandates and the collective objectives of the campaign.
While celebrating these milestones, we reaffirm our commitment to unity, purposeful political engagement, strategic collaboration and the continued strengthening of our collective influence in Delta State.
Once again, we warmly congratulate Mr. Chiedu Ebie, Esq., Hon. Fred Ofume and Mr. Davidson Okafor on their well-deserved appointments. We wish them fruitful tenures, productive service and greater accomplishments as they contribute to the success of the campaign and the advancement of their shared political vision.
Their success is our shared joy, and their appointments further affirm the growing strategic relevance of D.U.G. as a formidable political movement in Delta State.
Congratulations to our distinguished leaders and brothers!
