CAP reinforces commitment to education, creativity through Sandtex dream challenge

Chemical and Allied Products Plc (CAP PLC), Nigeria’s leading manufacturer and distributor of paints, coatings and the renowned Sandtex paint brand, has reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment, creativity and education with the successful hosting of the grand finale of the 2026 Sandtex Paint Your Dream Challenge in Lagos.
The colourful event, held at NECA House, Alausa, Ikeja, attracted students, teachers, parents, judges, media practitioners and other stakeholders who gathered to celebrate the artistic brilliance and imagination of young Nigerians.
Designed as more than just an art competition, the Sandtex Paint Your Dream Challenge seeks to inspire students to dream boldly, think creatively and confidently express their ideas through visual art. The initiative reflects CAP PLC’s belief that every great achievement begins with imagination and that creativity remains a powerful tool for shaping a better future.
Participants were challenged to create artistic impressions of the buildings, homes and communities they hope to see in the future, reinforcing the message that today’s dreams can become tomorrow’s reality.
At the end of the keenly contested competition, Sango Senior Secondary School, Agege, emerged overall winner and received the grand prize of ₦1 million.
Chrisland School secured the second position and went home with ₦750,000, while Praise Generation College claimed third place, receiving ₦500,000 for their outstanding creativity, originality and interpretation of the competition’s theme.
Speaking during the grand finale, the Managing Director of CAP PLC, represented by the Company’s Secretary and General Counsel, Olutola Bella, said the initiative demonstrates the company’s commitment to creating value that extends beyond its products.
According to him, CAP PLC believes that truly impactful brands contribute meaningfully to society by investing in people and communities.
“At CAP PLC, we believe the strongest brands create value beyond the products they sell. Through Sandtex, we are investing in creativity, education and the next generation of innovators because brighter communities begin with empowered young minds.
“The Paint Your Dream Challenge reflects our belief that every dream deserves a canvas, and by giving young people the opportunity to imagine, create and express themselves, we are helping to shape a future filled with possibility,” he said.
Also speaking, the Regional Sales Manager, Lagos 1, Ijeoma Barnaby-Nsikak, described the initiative as a practical demonstration of the Sandtex brand’s promise to transform lives and communities beyond decorative painting.
She noted that while Sandtex has earned a reputation for transforming spaces with quality paint solutions, the competition extends that transformation by inspiring young people to believe in the power of their imagination.
“Sandtex has always been a brand that transforms spaces. Through the Paint Your Dream Challenge, we are extending that transformation beyond paint by inspiring young people to dream bigger, express their creativity and believe that their ideas matter.
“Every iconic building, every thriving community and every remarkable innovation begins with imagination. Through this platform, we are encouraging the next generation to see creativity as the foundation for shaping a better future,” she stated.
Organisers acknowledged the invaluable contributions of participating schools, teachers, parents, judges, retail partners, distributors, members of the CAP PLC management team and the wider Sandtex community, whose support ensured the success of the programme.
The company noted that the initiative has grown into much more than a promotional campaign, becoming a platform that nurtures young talent, encourages innovation and creates opportunities capable of transforming lives.
As one of Nigeria’s most trusted decorative paint brands, Sandtex reaffirmed its commitment to delivering premium-quality paint solutions while continuing to champion initiatives that promote education, creativity, youth development and national progress.
The 2026 Sandtex Paint Your Dream Challenge ended on a high note, with participants and guests celebrating not only artistic excellence but also the limitless potential of Nigerian youths whose dreams, organisers believe, will help shape the nation’s future.
