CAGRAM inaugurates Abisola Azeez as Matron, seeks stronger voter mobilisation

Consolidated APC Grassroots Movement (CAGRAM), a coalition of over 20 All Progressives Congress (APC) support groups in Lagos State, has honoured the Iyaloja of Computer Village, Ikeja, Chief Mrs. Abisola Azeez, by inaugurating her as the Matron of the organisation while calling on members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and voter registration ahead of future elections.

The colourful ceremony, held at her office in Computer Village, Ikeja, attracted leaders and members of the various affiliated APC support groups, market women, party faithful and community stakeholders.

In his welcome address, the Lagos State Chairman of CAGRAM, Prince Fatai Balogun, said the gathering was organised to consolidate the activities of APC grassroots support groups under a common platform and to recognise Chief Mrs. Abisola Azeez for her outstanding contributions to community development, grassroots mobilisation and support for the progressive ideals of the APC.

According to him, the coalition was established to strengthen party unity, deepen grassroots participation and coordinate mobilisation efforts across Lagos State ahead of future political engagements.

He noted that the investiture of Chief Mrs. Azeez as Matron was in recognition of her exemplary leadership, commitment to community service and consistent support for grassroots initiatives.

The investiture was witnessed by executives of CAGRAM, members of the coalition and market women from the Computer Village community, who applauded the honour bestowed on the respected market leader.

Responding after receiving the title, Chief Mrs. Abisola Azeez expressed gratitude to the leadership and members of CAGRAM for finding her worthy of the honour.

She pledged to work closely with the organisation in promoting its objectives and strengthening grassroots participation across the state.

“I sincerely appreciate this honour and the confidence you have reposed in me. I promise to contribute my best towards achieving our collective goals and supporting the organisation in every way possible,” she said.

Following the investiture, participants held an interactive session during which members discussed strategies for strengthening grassroots mobilisation and expanding community participation in democratic processes.

Chief Mrs. Azeez responded to questions from members and encouraged sustained collaboration among party faithful, stressing the importance of unity and collective action in advancing the objectives of the APC.

A major resolution reached during the meeting was the need for members to intensify voter education and awareness campaigns within their respective communities.

The coalition urged members to encourage eligible Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), describing voter registration as an essential civic responsibility and a critical tool for strengthening democratic participation.

Speakers at the meeting emphasised that grassroots mobilisation remains the foundation of electoral success and urged members to sustain regular engagement with residents, market associations, youth groups and community organisations.

The meeting ended with an Islamic closing prayer, symbolising religious harmony and mutual respect among members despite their diverse faiths.

The event reaffirmed CAGRAM’s commitment to promoting unity among APC support groups, enhancing grassroots organisation and encouraging wider voter participation as preparations gradually begin for future electoral activities in Lagos State.
