In the landscape of political leadership, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu has firmly positioned himself as a significant authority, boasting over three decades of active engagement in practical politics.

His initial foray into the political arena came in 1992 when he secured the Lagos West senatorial seat as a member of the Social Democratic Party.

Following the military coup led by Sani Abacha in 1993, which resulted in the dissolution of the Senate, Tinubu emerged as a prominent activist advocating for the restoration of democracy, aligning himself with the National Democratic Coalition movement.

In 1999, he took on the role of Governor of Lagos State, where he served two consecutive terms totaling eight years under the banner of the Alliance for Democracy (AD).

Since the conclusion of his governorship, Tinubu has evolved into a nationalist and a pivotal figure recognized for his ability to identify and cultivate emerging leaders, facilitating their ascent to influential positions across Nigeria.

This statement elucidates the reason behind the President’s commendation during the most recent visit of the Akwa Ibom delegation. During this significant meeting, the President remarked,

“You are fortunate to have an exceptionally capable governor, who is guided by a deep reverence for God and an unwavering affection for the citizens he serves.

I regularly tune into the Arise programme that amplifies state affairs, and I have been diligently keeping abreast of the various developments unfolding in your State.

This acknowledgment not only x-rays the qualities of the Governor but also underscores the pride and confidence the President has in the leadership within Akwa Ibom.

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria sees a servant leader who sees the political Party as a platform to emerge as a leader, but not as a tool of Division during Governance.

President Ahmed Tinubu envisions a leader who is determined to rectify the outdated and harmful dogma of political practices in Nigeria.

This includes the habit of persisting in conflict and competition even after an election has been conducted and won, as well as the tendency to hinder the progress of opponents’ territories to assert political dominance.

The President of Nigeria sees that Governor Umo Eno’s new Leadership module seeks to address the issue where a sitting Governor halts development in a particular local government area simply because his strongest opposition hails from there.

Moreover, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria views Governor Umo Eno’s virtues as a means to address the issue of political bias, wherein key infrastructure development is overlooked in states that did not support a politician during the election, particularly when the Governor of such a state is affiliated with a different political party.

Tinubu believes that Governor Eno’s sacrificial spirit and dedication to national progress make him a valuable asset for steering Nigeria towards a new era of prosperity and growth.

As a political powerhouse, President Tinubu has identified Governor Umo Eno as a promising protégé, poised to make a significant impact on the political world of Nigeria and beyond.

At the meeting, President Godswill Akpabio articulated his thoughts, offering commendations for President Tinubu’s exemplary leadership. He also praised Governor Eno for his efforts in promoting unity and facilitating substantial advancements within the state.

Akpabio underscored the critical significance of collaborative efforts in realizing developmental objectives at both the state and national levels.

He unequivocally pledged his unwavering support for Governor Eno’s visionary initiatives aimed at enhancing the prospects of Akwa Ibom.

The President of the Senate, Dr Godwill Obot Akpabio, views Governor Eno as a collaborative team member, a unifier of the State, a visionary for a developed Akwa Ibom, a promoter of peace, and a champion of accountability and transparency.

The President of the Senstes eloquently remarked that, since assuming as the governor of Akwa Ibom State in 2007, he has not witnessed a momentous occasion, this is the first time he has seen all stakeholders of the State gathered in unison. In his own words, “The blue water and the white water are here mixed.”

At a luncheon organized in honor of Governor Umo Eno by Senate President, Dr God’s will Akpabio, Atuekong Don Etiebet expressed his sentiments regarding his long-standing engagement in politics, which began in 1978.

He articulated that throughout his extensive political career, he has never encountered a form of inclusive leadership comparable to that exhibited by Governor Umo Eno in Nigeria or within Akwa Ibom State.

He characterized Governor Umo Eno as a rare breed of leader, noting that in just over twenty months of his administration, the governor has initiated substantial development in Akwa Ibom State, prompting widespread admiration and praise from the public.

The former Minister of Petroleum emphasized the significance of this leadership style and its impact on Akwa Ibom State.

Governor Umo Eno during the visit to Mister President, pursued federal assistance for critical initiatives, notably the much-anticipated Ibom Deep Seaport, which holds the potential to revolutionize the state’s economy while significantly contributing to both regional and national economic development.

The president is determined to silence critics by avoiding partisanship and promoting the development of the Ibom Deep Sea Port in Akwa Ibom State.

As the clear blue seas symbolize transparency, the President closely examines Governor Umo Eno’s character and is astonished by the realization that a leader in contemporary Nigeria is striving to foster peace with all to drive progress in his State.
